If free agency continues to play out like this then clubs like Western Bulldogs will always be down the bottom because as soon as someone good comes then a richer club just plucks them away and the process starts all over again.

It's funny you should mention the Bulldogs the day that it comes to light Griffen has issues with the club and wants to leave. If clubs create an environment where players are thriving then they will have far less desire to take the money and run.

I would hazard a guess that the majority of Hawthorn's best 25 could be on more money at a different club. Instead of shedding tears over free agency, bottom 8 teams should be expending effort on building better workplaces.

How do you suppose teams do this? Melbourne has possibly the best CEO/Coaching duo in the competition (even managed a profit this year somehow) but Frawley still 'took the money and ran'

Pfft..... :P Im pretty sure Port proved they did.

Harbrow, Ward, Higgins, Griffen, Cooney (possible), Minson (possible) these are all players who have been approached by other clubs in the past couple of years through this free agency block.

How can you sell the Western Bulldogs to a player when you have become the most vulnerable club of this modern day free agency period. Bulldogs are going no where because they get their players stolen from them. Pretty hard to build a workplace when you have nothing to build it on

Surely you of all people would understand what I'm talking about. Think about what Port have done in recent times.

Gooses gonna goose. Doesn't mean the farm can't prosper. Just gotta keep sowing the right seeds.

So not sure how much weight this carries but there's this from Tim Rosen:

- Don't get too excited about this Kangas fans, as I can't 100% confirm it yet...but I've heard there is still a chance Levi Greenwood stays

- My understanding is that hewas reluctant to leave, even after "poor" offers from the Kangas, but was encouraged to look elsewhere by manager

- Can now confirm that Greenwood is considering staying. There is still a chance Kangas supporters!
I take it back! Levi you're not a shower, money hungry bloke after all, your kicking isn't THAT bad, and this year wasn't just a flash in the pan! :P

Had a feeling Pickering would be behind this in some way or another...

Normally when you say "nothing else interesting will happen today"

You're meant to actually following it up with something interesting.
