ESSENDON midfielder Elliott Kavanagh is the latest Bomber to request a trade.

The Herald Sun reveal the wingman wants to change clubs after growing frustrated by a lack of senior opportunities under coach Mark Thompson this year

Ruckman Paddy Ryder and speedster Jason Winderlich have both quit the club, while Ben Howlett's future hinges on the reappointment of coach James Hird.

However, lawyer Chris Pollard said Essendon had strong grounds to contest Ryder's move to Port Adelaide in court, as the Bombers yesterday continued their hard line stance in trade talks.

Pollard said the Bombers could also take action against Port for inducing a breach of contract, saying "clearly he (Ryder) has been wined and dined by Port Adelaide".

not bothered about Kavanagh has not really shown any of the potential we thought he had

Ryder said he was going to Brisbane before Port jumped in the race. Was he winded and dined to go to the Lions as well? The fact is they can contest the clause, but the players association will be all over it and it stands due to the court cases. Essendon need new lawyers

the clause is total bs

if he was so upset about the 2012 supplements program he wouldn't have signed a new deal this year that's a pretty good argument imo

@theafloffseason: Carlton proposed including Mitch Robinson in a trade with the Western Bulldogs for Liam Jones and Jason Tutt but... http://t.co/VdjdhVB5BA

Not really sure what this is based off, but interesting none the less..
Would like it if Robbo found a club...for WXV purposes only.

Starting to get a bit concerned  :-\

no doubt he will go somewhere, just wont be a priority for anyone

Geelong premiership player Travis Varcoe could become a Collingwood player, by becoming the missing link in a three-way trade with Melbourne and Geelong involving Heritier Lumumba and Mitch Clark

I'm pretty sure the players were advised about it this year...

I am pretty sure if I was Ryder and the club said they'd hold me back after being told an unborn baby of mine could be screwed cause they drugged me, I'd walk for nothing, take them to court and flower em up. :P

_wato

Please not Varcoe, I plead with you! Don't get him Collingwood..

Yup. 100% No doubt. I would.

Mat0369

I will use this for the Ryder example. Back in the 70's most people thought asbestos was harmless. Tradies would routinely remove asbestos without protective gear at the instruction of their employers. Eventually they found out the side effects it caused. Let's say that they had signed a contract with a company while the investigation was looking into how harmful asbestos actually is. The company had an idea that maybe they shouldn't be doing this but instead continued to let their employees removing the asbestos. Once the players found out the side effects and what it could cause to their unborn children along with their own health they wanted to leave their employer breaking the contrace as they felt it was an unsafe working environment/practice and could potentially have long lasting effects. Would that be fair enough? No one would think twice about it.

Whats the point of Ryder leaving now anyway? If the supplements might hurt his unborn child moving states won't exactly cure it.

Its Ryder's excuse to leave a sinking ship should of left when Gus and Crameris left
