Surely the Bulldogs and Blues would have a good look at Jon?

Sounds like an improvement to me ;)

Sydney should get promoted to the EPL where they can use their billions to buy Messi and Ronaldo and park them up forward with Buddy, Tippett and friends.

Well Goodwin has signed on at Melbourne. Press Conference at 12:30

Not sure whether this was already posted or not but...

Fremantle have also entered the race to secure free agent, Jarrad Waite's signature, since he too held discussions with the Dockers management during the week.

Waite has been offered a one-year contract extension by the Blues, whilst North Melbourne have tabled a one year deal, with an activation clause for a second year should he play 16 games in 2015.

Waite has already told the Dockers that he will only move interstate for a two-year deal.

I cannot understand Sanderson's sacking. They should have said "you have a year to turn this around" which would have kicked them into gear. Mark Ricciuto has blood on his hands and so do the board. If it is a player revolt that has forced their hand, that's very disappointing. IMO Crows players always seem to have a mentality that good things will come to them, without having to work hard; that they think they're better than they really are. The fishbowl media environment in Adelaide that constantly pumps them up doesn't help either.

But in the last few years, Crows have had a lot go wrong that hasn't been Sando's fault.

We lost Gunston, Davis, Bock and Tippett to other clubs - four very good KPPs. We've lost Taylor Walker to an ACL which affected all of 2013, and in 2014 he was below-par because he needs a solid pre-season under his belt.  We had no first-round draft picks for two years cos of the Tippett saga. Despite this we still jagged the Crouch brothers. And Sando had no senior assistant for the best part of 2 years - Dean Bailey was suspended in 2013 then died before the 2014 season.

We may have lost games we should have won; we may have underachieved, but to have all that happen and only just miss out on finals two years in a row is not the end of the world. It's not like we were competing for the wooden spoon.

It's easy to forget we have one of the youngest lists in the comp, and to get within a kick of the GF in 2012 was no mean feat. We could really have mounted something next season if we played to our best.

Clearly there are in-house dramas going on as well though.. But with Bomber and Goodwin off the table I really don't know where the next choice will come from.

They will start their own sport called "Sydneyball" and win the premiership every year as the only team.

Goodes to retire,  Ryder to Swans.

Surely taking the piss!

:-*

Malceski is headed west by all reports so that should free up some Paddy money

Would like him. Would give up pick 6 for Giles, Jaksch and their end of round 1 compensation pick that they have. KPF forward problem solved in one hit.

Interesting too that his brother is only signed to 2015 and with family moving to Melbourne will Claye be a target at end of next season for some clubs.

He's only signed on for one year because he's actually not very good and doesn't deserve a long contract.

The sticking point with Eski is apparantly the 3rd year. Swans offering 2 he wants 3.

Cant see many clubs offering him (he just turned 30) a 3yr deal?

No guarantees he leaves yet.

There have been a few rumblings in recent days that Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer could be on his way to Collingwood.

That was squashed by a few people man and even the herald sun today said it's not true

That would be a big move but can't see it happening, the Blues have invested so much in him

From 2014 AFL Offeason on twitter/facebook

- Adelaide's Patrick Dangerfield has said rumours about him leaving the Crows are 'ridiculous', Dangerfield has said he only met Hawthorn coach Alistair Clarkson to talk about "pumping up" the international rules series.

- Carlton football manager Andrew McKay has confirmed the club's interest in Sydney's Tom Mitchell.

- Jon Ralph is reporting Guy McKenna is safe but only for tonight. On notice and reviews to come. Might not last the summer.

- Damien Barrett has reported on last nights footy show that Paddy Ryder met earlier in the week with James Hird, telling the Essendon coach that he will not be at the club in 2015, using the words "deal with it" in what is arguably going to be a very messy split between the Ryder camp and Essendon.
It is understood that he wishes to activate a AFLPA implemented clause that allows Essendon players to move freely to a club of their choice as a delisted free agent despite whether or not he is contracted.

Not much new there
