Yeah Paddy as a forward. I said this earlier, but some of the Bombers games I watched Paddy looked like their best ruck and forward. I think they would look to play him as a stay at home forward.

THE BRISBANE Lions have confirmed speaking to Paddy Ryder's manager and are well and truly in the hunt for the Essendon ruckman's services.

With Leuy and S.Martin, why would they chase Paddy?
Berger could be on the move, but even if he stays Paddy as a forward would be handy.

Haha just looked in the Brisbane thread, where Ringo reckons Leuy is trade bait for Dayne Beams....
That would be massive.

Ricochet

Looks like Goldsack has signed a 3 year deal with the pies

We have confirmed that Ryder's management have approached us so we will be following through.
Ryder will more than likely be used forward but will give ruck depth - Something we did not have this year with Martin having to do sole ruck for 12 games.  West will be in rehab for at least half of mext season as well.  In 3 of his last 6 seasons Berger has played 5 games or less so strategy after approach may be sound.

We will take Berger at Carlton, you guys can have Robbie Warnock and Cam Wood

Bahahahaha. Good one mat.

Mr.Craig

"Essendon coach James Hird has contacted Mitch Clark and his management about a possible move to the Bombers according to Fox Sports."

Ricochet

Makes sense. Replaces Ryder basically and can play a fwd/ruck role with Belly

Mr.Craig

Also read that the Bulldogs are offering 5 years to Jaksch which is just stupid.

That's ridiculous lol.

Although I guess its been done before with Hogan/Jack Martin etc.

Nige

The new, trendy thing to do is offer big contracts dollars to scare off other clubs - Carlton doing the same with Higgins iirc.

Mr.Craig

It'll all come back to bite them.

They dont need a big contract to scare off clubs for higgins, just a contract will do. Still cant believe Blues are going after him

As many as four clubs with million-dollar offers circled Essendon's Jake Carlisle last week urging him to leave the Bombers under the drugs "get-out clause" according to the Herald Sun.

The Lions are confident Paddy Ryder, who has two years to run on a contract, will accept a five-year offer worth an estimated $650,000 a season according to the Herald Sun.

Carlton have put a four-year deal in front of homesick GWS swingman, Kristian Jacksch, whilst the Western Bulldogs have reportedly tabled an initial five-year deal.
