Port have delisted Paul Stewart
I seriously thought the last four years that, this guy can really play! Fantastic utility seriously underrated!

Also, anyone think Adelaide should take Barlow? Or leave it to the younger guys to step up?

Also, really hope Stewart gets another crack!

On Barlow he would be a good fit for you guys but think GC will beat you to him they will be looking for an mid like him after losing 2 mids in trade period
I think it will depend on whether Barlow is more interested in the money or having a crack at the premiership imo

I think after this ordeal with the Dockers, it may be prudent to go to the higher paying club (his earning capacity is starting to run thin)

Yeah, i reckon hes stuggling, AFL players arent payed enough
Well it's like any contract job... you earn a lot in the short-term, but when those payments are considered over the duration of one's life it will usually only amount to an average wage.

There's jobs after footy but they rarely pay a comparable salary to an AFL contract

I think at this stage in your career, the money should be the priority unless he's been financially savvy - similar applies to Lids, I know that he will likely win a premiership at GWS, but it will cost him a steady price tag of $600k to do so (the total amount he's forfeiting from his salary).

Then again, others may say it's about more than the money, and considering that winning the premiership is a boyhood dream for many players, it's quite commendable that Lids would sacrifice that much just to accomplish it - it's a big win for the Giants to get a player with the character to do something like that and I really hope it works out (he's likely to get 3 premierships looking at their list at this point  :P )

Very true but as for Barlow playing for a premiership I know GC are nowhere near the Crows are closer but still can't see them winning one anytime soon with the talent of GWS the coaching brilliance of the Bulldogs and the consistency of Sydney plus a couple of other contenders so if I were Barlow I would be purely focusing on the $$$$  :P

Josh Green has been informed his contract will not be renewed by Brisbane. Could be a handy pick up wanting a speedy small forward and goal sneak.

What am i missing? Why are they delisting him? thought he was decent

4 into 3 small will not go. Zorko Taylor and "Bundy" Christensen. Think we waited on the Taylor decision before making a final decision on Green. When Taylor re-signed Green was odds on to be delisted given his contract expires on 31st October.
Agree he was decent with his goal kicking and forward defensive pressure but he did slip this year like most and his foot injury did not help.

2 time brissy leading goal kicker :P Not a huge achievement but wouldnt of thought brissy had the list to be pushing decent players out :P Might not be as good as i thought but id be happy with him at the bombers!

He's never going to be a great player, and there's a lot of kids that we want to get games into and that can perform almost as well as Green can imo.

He could be better at a better club though.

Fair enough :P

Don't rate Green at all

Harsh perhaps, but that's just the way I see it

Has been linked to Essendon apparently

I think he's got something about him from an AFL sense. Good pace, good around goal, could fit in well somewhere imo. As stated, its not Brissie though. Some reports of him wanting a move earlier in the year, and he's not as good as Lewy Taylor and Ainsworth will be better.

Zorko I classify as a mid, Christo was hbf last he played.

Carlton has delisted Andrejs Everitt, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow, Jason Tutt, Mark Whiley, Andrew Gallucci and Billy Gowers.
Gallucci and Gowers have been offered to train with the club in the hope of being re-rookied.

Back to Finley for Whiley.

Viojo-Rainbow wasn't given much of a chance :(

Yeah thought Whiley had something at the Giants but never looked any good at the Blues imo. If Graham is fringe then Whiley will always struggle.

Yeah at the Giants he played on the outside, which was where he was actually decent. Transitioned to the inside but didn't pull off because he's scared to get the ball himself. Good enough guy. But was never AFL standard.

So Paul Stewart has retired, one of the most underrated footballers I have ever seen!

Really cant quite figure out why he wasn't in the starting 22 every week! fantastic utility either end ???

Mat0369

Whiley's best games at GWS were as a tagger. He couldn't win the pill and his diaposal is poor. If he was to play as an outside mid I'd be even worse.

The Rainbow pick was terrible when we made it and it's even worse now. He struggled to get 15 touches a game at VFL level. If you can't get a sniff of the pill in 2 years in the twos then good luck doing. That draft is going to become the lost draft at Carlton.
