Just looking over today's trades, if it wasn't for Carlton than JOM wouldn't have landed at the Hawks

GC needed 2 second rounders on top of 10, and SOS came to the rescue saying he would give Hawthorn their future second rounder once they received it from GWS, and Hawks only had to give up a 48, 66 and 70. Not sure why Carlton was generous to help Hawks there

Palmer going for 135 is pretty funny too. 135!!

I'd say the Hawks might be doing us a solid in the future. Maybe they have agreed to let Litherland come to us as a delisted free agent.

there's gotta be like an under the table agreement or whatever between Carlton and Hawthorn. remember this for next year to see if the Hawks look after the Blues

There used to be a rule where you had to use any draft pick that you traded in. So in this instance GWS would have had to use pick 135 in the draft ;)

The other thing is when you look at it in terms of points the GWS 2nd round pick next year will be equal to what the Hawks gave us this year.

We effectively on traded it to recoup the picks we traded to GWS so I understand why we also made that move.

Didn't the Hawks do something similar with the Saints? Something involving Savage and Big Boy? I can't remember exactly but someone did someone a favour then gave them a good trade later on. Not against the rules I guess, but I hope JOM flops :P
