So, it is true that Hawks gave up 48, 66 & 70 for Carlton's 2017 second rounder (say Pick 25).

Surely... SURELY, an IOU was involved in this trade. I just can't understand it, at all.

Blues are going to win the flag, then add a couple of compo picks and we're looking at pick 40ish. Not so bad...

Or in reality somewhere around the pick 20 mark. flowering awful.

We traded our 2nd to Geelong so I'm not sure what future 2nd were using.

One from GWS in the Marchbank deal. They've probably acquired 6 of them so who knows which club it's attached to.

I thought we traded those picks back to GWS in the Marchbank deal which is what's thrown me

Definitely disagree with anyone that says the Hawks lose!

They gave up a lot to get what came in the door. And they did some damage to players still there as well I reckon.

Handled Lewis and JOM trades really badly.

Havent got a pick in 2016 until #88

May not have lost due to getting JOM and Mitchell, but wouldnt call them winners

JOM and Mitchell have elite potential though imo, and Smitch was in his final year regardless. Lewis went real cheap, but lets be honest.. Fantasy aside he had some pretty poor games of footy last season, on the decline imo.
Lewis did finish second in the B&F. Not really sure you can call that "on the decline" :P

Haha fair call, in terms of consistent output though I stand by the fact he had more poor games than he has had in the past couple of years this season.

RD2: 19 possies, 4 FAs
RD4: 20 possies, 0 marks
RD5: 15 possies
SF: 10 possies

Granted he did actually warm into the season quite well after his early poor games, better than I thought!

+10 points for GL! (-5 for not answering the Q and saying that Frost was also to be traded)

Traded Geelong's 1st rounder (from the Tuohy trade) to GWS for them + the 2nd rounder

So we basically traded Tuohy, our future 2nd and downgraded in the 3rd and 4th for Marchbank, Pickett and Palmer. Win!

I'm really happy with that. Our spine is starting to take shape.

Weits
Marchbank
Cripps
Curnow
McKay

RaisyDaisy

Stop trolling Holz

Nobody said we did the best. Mitchell and Vardy regardless of his injuries for 2 junk picks can only be a win

At least we don't treat our greats like rubbish and give out first round picks for spuds like Jed :P

Losers
Crows
Power
Lions
I wouldn't say we lost anything. Odds are we basically got a top 10 pick for Hanley which is way overs, and Frost adds a bit of experience to our backline. Apparently we weren't gonna take McGrath in the draft, so dropping from 2 to 3 is irrelevant, and we have 4 picks inside the top 22. I'm happy with what happened for us.

You're prob right if you look at it in terms of a minor rebuild, but I looked at it as you lost a decent player in Hanley and club's relationship with the captain is a little/lot "rocky".  Put it this way, oyu're not doing better next year than you did this year, but that's prob not the idea anyway.
Eh, Hanley didn't want to be there and he'll be 28 in a few weeks. Tom Mitchell went for 14, Blues wanted 13 + extra for Softie. JOM went for 10 and a 2nd rounder. I'll be laughing if Port drop a bit this year and we end up with a pick around 6 for Pearce! ;D
Rocky seemingly does want to be there, and looks like things are fine now. Can't make a call there I guess until next year though haha (or earlier if he extends his contract).
Regarding Rocky Fagan and Noble have met with the leadership group individually and stated what is expected next year.  Leadership group for next year is not to be finalised until pre-season and all players now that.
http://www.lions.com.au/news/2016-10-20/leadership-roles-will-be-reviewed
My only concern is that we have no picks between 21 and 78 which means we may have to bite the bullet and take Ellison with pick 21 if we do not have enough points stockpiled.
Do not mind the extra first round pick for next year though as we may have to use it to secure Connor Ballenden
Liuke

meow meow

Dogs traded Koby and Hrovat not for cap reasons, but to enable them to find AFL homes instead of being stuck in the VFL and because we have to use 3 picks at the draft as per AFL rules, and nobody else on the list was uncontracted/deserving to be cut.

Still insure how GWS steal Lids after Tigs pay #6 for Prestia. Well done though Tigers, got who you needed

How Giants can fit Lids under the salary cap ........

Nice to see everyone else happy to see GWS and cheat again as usual though!

He had to take a pay cut and pick 6 is a bit high but he is young and quality and swapped 2nd rounds which got us Caddy , good to see Lids go somewhere that will give him a crack at a flag or two before he bows out
