I think the reason for Melbourne not getting a PP was because you've already had a couple PPs, so it's not so much about getting the young talent, it's about developing it.
and it's not all bad for Melbourne. you got pick 3 for Frawley while we get pick 13 for Goddard and 25 for Dal, and Hawks get 19 for Buddy. I know that all has to do where you've finished on the ladder but there's something wrong with that.
and a year before you picked up one of if not the best young forward in the game

it's all about develpment and more picks won't change that

I'm not complaining. Think we have a good young group and should be able to do some damage in the coming years

It's going to be hard to justify giving a priority pick to anyone else though if Melbourne didn't get one. They may as well abolish it

And technically the Dees, Saints and Hawks all got the same free agency compensation. It's just another equalisation measure that changes the position of the pick. I know it sounds odd but it kind of makes sense

Bill Manspeaker

yeah I get it's technically the same compensation, but something about Frawley being worth pick 3 while other guns are what they were doesn't sit right with me

not sure how Carlton can ask for a PP to be honest. I get Melbourne and even Brissy, but Carlton... really? what's the bet Essendon asks for one next year

RiOtChEsS

Carlton are setting the table, by asking for a PP and getting turned down it applies pressure to the AFL granting #2 for Kruezer ;)

The Age reckons Jake Melksham will eithe stay a Bomber or ask for a trade to the Dees.

Quote"1116 SEN have reported that Collingwood's Matthew Scharenberg has signed a three-year deal to remain with Collingwood after having turned his back on a lucractive offer to return to his native South Australia."

and

QuoteThe Herald Sun are reporting that Brent Stanton could be on the way out of Essendon, with the 248-gamer reportedly unsatisfied by the Bombers' offer of a one-year contract to keep him at the club in 2016.
Stanton, 29, is looking for a minimum two-year deal and it has been mooted that should the free agent receive a three-year offer from a rival club, the Bombers could receive a second-round compensation pick.

RaisyDaisy

Pretty shower from Essendon to only offer Stants a year.

Agree man. They'll bump it up to 2 now though surely

It is Essendon though... when Dodoro's your list manager, anything could happen.

Richmond ruled themselves out of the Aish race.

Apparently Markworth won't be at the Saints next season, although there is a chance he may get delisted and redrafted as a rookie.

Mason Shaw might get cut from Port should they get Charlie Dixon and Jay Schulz signs on, may have some suitors though since a number of clubs are looking for big forwards.
