Yeah, Big time heist - unless his injury is still iffy I suppose  ???

Yeah I feel like Geelong may have factored that in when accepting pick 21 for him.. 23 y.o with a dud back :s
Bit harsh. It's not like they wanted to trade him, he wanted to go and Brisbane were the only option.

Course not, but they caved very easily. Think you misinterpreted my post? Haha

They didn't really put up much of a fight did they. Either their really good blokes... or there's more to it :-X

I've heard he has some pretty serious off-field issues

21 is about right. He has a ton of talent but he has battled injury for most of his career and he'll probably be one of those players forever. 21 isn't a spud pick and Steven Wells will make sure it is put to good use.

He just wanted to get out of Geelong. Not the club, the city. I don't blame him.

Is it just me or have contracts suddenly become not worth the paper they are written on.  ???

I'll give you a five year contract if you retract that statement.

done deal

The Brisbane Lions today lodged the paperwork for a trade that will see former Geelong premiership player Allen Christensen join the Club.

The Lions acquired the talented 23-year-old midfielder in return for Pick No.21, which the Club received from GWS in exchange for veteran defender, Joel Patfull.
I would take Patful for Christensen anyday which is effectively what this trade is  ;D ;D

You could look at it as a two-time best and fairest winner for a guy who has missed 30 games in four years...

Really could go either way, hopefully Christensen goes bang though for my axviii side :3

What would have been interesting is if Patful went to the Swans instead. There would be no way that the Swans would give up their first pickso it would have been the Esky pick (late 2nd round) which probably wouldnt have got the job done

Ringo

Our win then TABS and you can blame the AFL if you like for changing rules for you.

Anthony Hudson has reported on 1116 SEN that North Melbourne's Kieran Harper could be traded by the time trade week wraps up on Thursday at 2pm.

Harper, who has suffered an array of injuries since being selected at pick 23 in the 2010 National Draft could also be delisted by the Roos, who will re-list him as a rookie unless he is snapped up as a delisted free agent or selected by another club in the rookie draft.

Harper has played 40 games since debuting in 2011.

Brett Anderson has reported on 1116 SEN that the Western Bulldogs have shown some interested in Richmond defender, Matthew Dea. The Bulldogs could sign him during the delisted free agency period on November 1st, with Richmond set to delist the 23 year-old.

I have heard this as well. Really surprised the back story hasn't leaked out yet but that's credit to the club I think.

I'm not sure why he was so keen to go to Queensland but I know he definitely wanted out of Geelong for an off-field reason and the Cats were willing enough to accommodate a deal where they get slightly unders for him so they must have been aware of this.
