Jack Redden 1 year younger than Beams.

Wouldn't do it. Redden showed what he can do which was just as good as beams in Redden's 2nd half of the season

Redden for Beams or flower off Pies imo.
C'mon Nails, Beams is way better than Redden.

"way better" might be exaggerating
24 years old and and a Premiership Player, All Australian, club Fairest and Best and for the past 4 seasons has averaged 28 possies and 1.2 goals a game.

compared to Redden who is the same age this year with none of those accolades above and for the past 4 seasons averaging 23.6 possies and 0.5 goals a game.

Redden still a very good player but Beams is on another level
Yeah exactly, he's right up there with Fyfe, Danger, Cotch and co. He's probably shown more than all of them (well maybe apart from Fyfe), to this stage of his career.
Redden isn't on that level.

kilbluff1985

still think pick 5 would be overs Redden + 25 then maybe

Ringo

For the life of me can not see why the Pies would not accept Pick 5 and Lester.

Reddan is one year younger than Beams and imo

Pick 5 + Pick 25 + Redden FOR Beams and Christensen?

I'd say Beams is worth a bit more than Redden.
He wins a lot more of the ball and kicks goals.
Collingwood won't trade Beams unless they get pick 5, too.
Lions would probably ask for their 2nd rounder, but Pies would probably only offer third rounder.

So, Beams + 3rd rounder for Redden + 1st rounder would be more than fair.

I would be 100% against that. Not because I don't think it's a fair trade btw, but mainly because of the reasons I mentioned earlier. And plus, we didn't go after Beams, he said he wants to leave Collingwood and come to us. If it was the other way around, and let's say Hanley or Rocky wanted to leave Brisbane and go to Collingwood, would the Pies give up a top 5 draft pick (or a 2nd rounder) and one of Pendles/Beams/Sidebum? I doubt it.
If we were lacking in the midfield department, I'd probably be more inclined for us to trade one of our better players. But we're not. We have a midfield that should be extremely good for many years to come. What we need is a good key forward and defender, so therefore we shouldn't be losing our top players for another mid.

Yeah for sure, you guys would want to give up Redden. Not sure what you can offer on top of pick 5 to get the deal done, though.

But who knows, I guess we'll find out tomorrow?

That, or a 3-way deal where the Pies get a good player from another club.

Collingwood do that, but again looks like Brisbane won't be trading Mayes.

From what I've seen over the last year or so, Mayes REALLY wants to stay at Brisbane. I don't think it would be good for the club if we traded him.
It would be a fair trade though.

He'll be 24 year old for all of season 2015

He'll be 25 year old for all of season 2015

For all intents and purposes Redden is 1 year younger than Beams.
