Yes, it happens in other sports which is where Port took it from.

No other AFL clubs do it, because it looks cheesy

Having been to a Port game at Adelaide Oval this year it does create a great atmosphere though along with the other pre-game stuff they do. Much better than what the Crows do.

I don't think the Melbourne clubs are allowed to do anything like that given they all share the grounds.

Yeah, doesn't really make sense does it the way I wrote it :P

They were showing it last Friday night on the Foxtel pre-game before the game against Carlton and Eddie was bemoaning (unusal hey) that the Victorian clubs couldn't do it. I didn't hear all of the conversation as to the reason but I think it was something about the fact that multiple clubs share the grounds

Ziplock

haha, that is cheesy as flower.

Umm... the vic clubs could do it, but not against clubs they share the ground with? I think?

Ricochet

Peel Thunder play AC/DCs Thunderstruck pregame if that counts :P

So in other words, you're guessing :P

elephants

Haha, the Eagles play play Right Here Right Now by Fatboy Slim before games and then Eagle Rock on the odd occasion we actually win.
I like both songs so I'm good with it :P

I think Freo do a FRE-MAN-TLE version of TNT? Haha

Right Here Right Now is a ripper tune.  8)

Come-on guys, you're all jealous, it's brilliant. Even WC said his hairs stood to attention on his neck :) Mind u, probably got more there than his scone :P

PowerBug

I love it, clearly, being a Port supporter. I don't think I've spoken to one 'supporter' ;) that doesn't like it.

I actually want to see the club songs wiped out completely before the match. Club songs are there to celebrate victories, you don't celebrate before the match.

So this is into it's 3rd season now, what do people think? tbh I still love it such a great way to start a game off. Do they show it on TV? I haven't watched a Port home game on TV for so long, I'm either at the game or busy (Mainly the former of course!).

So yeah, thoughts peoples?

Given that it's so close to the bounce whenever I've seen it, yes, it does get shown on TV when Port are playing.
It works really well at the Adelaide Oval, the crowd is almost always going to be entirely Power, it wouldn't work for one Vic team to start singing when playing another Vic team at home because too much of the crowd would be 'opposing' it
Whilst it hasn't caught on with other clubs, people just recognise it as the Port Adelaide thing.
