Welcome all to the 2014 AXV Awards Night!

We have a big night ahead here, with plenty of awards to be given out, including the Golden Dragon, Wooden Chopstick, and of course, the big one, the first ever Colliwobblers Medal.

Named in honour of the man who set up this entire competition, the CW Medal is a Brownlow style medal, with 3-2-1 votes given for each AXV game. And I can tell you now that it is a cracker of a count, so I hope everyone stays around for it all!

MINOR PREMIERS - ASIA TROPHY - SRI LANKA STRIKERS

The Asia trophy goes to the minor premiers, this year being the Sri Lanka Strikers. Clearly the best team throughout the Home & Away season, the Strikers were near unbeatable, dropping only 1 game for the regular season, and finishing with a stunning percentage of 115.16%. The Strikers struggled late in the season though, and were eliminated in their Preliminary Final. Still, I expect them to be back with a vengeance next year!

So Ablett is out to the early lead, with Johnson right behind him, and Chapman and Ebert both polling strongly to start. Gary certainly needs all the votes he can get early on if he is to win!

COLLIWOBBLERS CAP - PRE-SEASON WINNER - KL CROCODILES

In a sign of things to come this year, the Crocodiles performed very strongly in the pre-season, beating the UAE Tigers in the final, 2090 points to 1777.

Good luck to the Crocodiles this weekend, as they face off against the Bears in the AXV Grand Final. Could the Crocodiles take out the pre-season and full-season premiership?
