Clarke has shown that he is a good player :P If Clarke is a spud then we may as well call all kpp defenders spuds.

Idk what games you were watching mate, but Freeman looked a lot better than Close to me.

Close: 14 Games, 10 Goals
Freeman: 4 Games, 6 Goals

Those stats don't really say much, but by some of the marks Freeman took throughout his couple of games make him look a better prospect to me.

Wingard is the most overrated player in the competition. Gleen > Wingard. Green would get games at just about every other club in the comp. he is a vital part of our future IMO.

I easily watch enough Lions games and I do really rate Green highly...but that statement is pretty inaccurate, you can't win an AFL clubs best & fairest in your second year by being overrated. Green finished 8th in the Lions B&F this year and Wingard finished 9th after a poor second half of the year in a strong side, and you particularly know that B&F is more accurate than other accolades after Patfull has gotten his due in recent years

Very inaccurate indeed, Green does his job which is what you expect from a forward. Wingard does his job but to a higher standard, and that is what club's expect of a no. 7 draft pick. Nothing against Green but you can't compare him to a player who has been selected with higher regard and, even though he is younger, has already achieved more in 3 years than over 80% of AFL players achieve in their entire career. Green is mediocre, he isn't bad, but there is nothing spectacular about him. We all know how incredible Wingard is, I mean the kid can excel in the midfield & forward line, dead-eye accuracy -any angle and target (even a basketball hoop)-, can step any player with ease, athletic, precise mark of the footy, and has the accolades to back his talent up. Furthermore, the AFL members voted Wingard the 3rd most exciting player in the AFL (after Gaj & Buddy) and he's only 21... Green wasn't even considered (and I can't see him being considered, the only people who find him exciting is Brisbane's small population of supporters). Green is effective, but comparing him to 'The Chad' is like apples to oranges. They are in different tiers, more was expected of Wingard than Green and both have delivered to the level expected of them. In fact, it's fair to say they've both exceeded that level - when you compare some of the forwards selected over 10 picks before Green - so far he's surpassed a few of them (esp. Jed Lamb).
