Interesting that it seems the majority of teams used this draft to pick up younger players in lieu of older established players.

Not saying it's right or wrong, just thought it was interesting.

Was interesting so will be eager to see how the season progresses.

From Breakers perspective we were always going to take a quality mid and a young forward and achieved what we set out to do with Lewis and Blair.

happy with my picks as long as Clarke gets DPP McEvoy maybe a slight chance to also

also think Merrett will be an elite player

Yeah, most of the people in XVs have this idea that youth > established players.

Broomhead a 92.8 unsubbed average should never had slipped to us.
Ironicay we could have picked stokes too if broomhead wasn't available.

If savage was gone for our first pick, we were looking at Hodge, who Winchester also picked. Just happened to turn out well for every one

Problem is a lot of the established players are on their way out.

Yeah, I worked that out myself and was hoping nobody else would have (clearly I was dead wrong).  :-[

We wanted a couple of younger players.
Shiels slots in nicely with Pendles,Hanners and Macrae
And with our backs being on the older side wanted someone younger there as well so ended up with Duryea

I hope that is sarcasm? 92 avg - lol he's only played a few games.

That's a bit like saying Delaney was a 90 avg defender last season (he played one game).

Admittedly though we were considering him Pick 1 in the rookie if he was still there so nice pick!

That's ok memph, you can be jealous ;)

He has played 5 games in a row not as the sub, all pretty consistent too (what a lowest of 81?! Mostly in losses too as a forward). He's a first round draft pick, smashes the vfl often...shouldn't have slipped!
