The Dayne Beams rumour to Brisbane surfaces every year, and I can't see him leaving at all.. Has already knocked back previous offers from the Suns to get him back home and although his brother is at Brisbane I don't see it being enough to poach him.. Unless the money is in the vicinity of Ablett/Franklin money and Collingwood get good compensation - Top 5 pick and more??

Will be interesting to see where both Collingwood and Brisbane head in the next few years as I've discussed this with Ringo and others at length.. Both lists are very similar and full of expendable youth, with their list of a graders and so on..

Agree with Wato here although Beams would meet the criteria stated who would you drop to accommodate him.  Only think we should try to get him if Aish goes home but there are capable replacements coming through as well,

Really think we should be chasing another position player to Top up experience when the likes of Merrett, Adcock and others near the end of their careers. I Would probably be targeting a HB or HF to guide the yougsters coming trough McStay, Freeman, Gardiner, Clarke, Crisp and co.

this makes the most sense in terms of free agent targets for Brissy with Browny retiring this year and the defenders you mention above getting closer to retirement ...

Surely if you can convince him to come you get him. What about playing Rich off the HB line like Mcveigh?

Setting up a rotation in the midfield/forward that has beams rockliff and zorko confusing the crap out of the guy trying to tag them

And what happens if someone goes down injured? another gun of beams' quality should be gobbled up if given the chance.
