Will there be 30 or do you think there should be a few more.

To many injuries these days. Game is played at a fast pace bound to be injuries. And some injuries screw your season over and its just the beginning.

Give us your thoughts

I think 30 is fine. This year has been particularly hard for me personally as I've been hit with a number of injuries, but now at the business end I find myself with 2 trades. Many may not have any trades left, so even though I have Beams, Fyfe, and JPK, with any luck I can cover it - 2 trades plus Roughy on my fwd bench so can DPP a player into mids for cover. My field team is weaker than many on here but my bench cover is better and now is when that counts. For sure I've made a couple of bad calls and potentially hasty decisions but I think I've only really 'wasted' 2 trades this season - Caddy to J.Merrett and I traded out Acres when he got injured right after bringing him in. In hindsight I should have held onto him  but at the time it made sense.

I think this year has been an outlier as far as injuries to SC must-have players, wouldn't expect to get so injury hit next season, you don't change the rules because of one blip on the radar.

HotTiges

Not sure about the 2 per round for next season..30 is good but shows some of 'wasted' trades weren't great IE Acres/Shenton etc

25-30 i think is fine but i wouldn't mind 2 a week for finals use them or lose them style like AF

30 is fine. Don't want to make it too easy. But in saying that, I've got three left and I'd love to be able to use all three this week, with up to SIX of my mids set to miss this week and destroy my season when I thought I was sitting pretty.

Jelemas10

30 trades is a fair amount i'd say, but something like 30 trades plus 1 trade per week of finals could be an interesting idea.

I would definately be in favor of additional "irreversible" trades during finals on a use them/lose them basis. Otherwise, the game just becomes, more and more, a roll of the dice with far too much dependence on the "good luck with injuries" factor.

30 trades is ample think if everyone with no trades looks at there team they could easily see 4 trades that they wasted during the season

I personally like the 30 trades it puts you in position were you really have to be smart about what you are doing, 2 a week is to easy

I'll happily take that on, here is my trade history, give me 4 wasted trades:

Round 3: Out: Michie + Hurn, In: M.Thomas + D.Swallow

Round 4: Out: Caddy, In: J.Merrett

Round 5: Out: B.Kennedy, In: Fasolo

Round 6: Out: X.Ellis + Rohan, In: M. Crouch + S. Lloyd

Round 7: Out: Dunstan + M. Thomas, In: Cutler + Hallahan

Round 8: Out: J. Merrett + L. MacDonald + Georgiou, In: Roughead + Ambrose + Hibberd

Round 9: Out: Aish + S.Mitchell, In: Acres + Bartel

Round 10: Out: Hickey + Acres + JKH, In: Mumford + Lennon + Jelwood

Round 11: Out: S.Lloyd + Polec, In: Shenton + Watson

Round 12: No trades

Round 13: Out: Tyson, In: Zorko

Round 14: Out: Watson + Higgins, In: Miles + S.Martin

Round 15: Out: Hallahan + Fasolo, In: Prestia + Fyfe

Round 16: Out: Derickx, In: B.Brown

Round 17: Out: Ambrose, In: Honeychurch

Round 18: Out: Ablett + Shenton, In: R.Gray + S.Mitchell

Round 19: Out: Langford, In: JPK

There are plenty in there which you can call bad trades in hindsight based on what we now know about how players have finished the season, but there are only really 2 trades on there which at the time I should have known better:

Caddy to Merrett - Caddy was a late out, and had been scoring less than I was expecting, Merrett had started with a hiss and a roar and I made a panic trade. Caddy ended up out for a while so he did need to go but Merrett was not the right option.

B.Kennedy to Fasolo - a round 1 relic, I wasn't able to get online when the season started and Kennedy was not named round 1, not entirely my fault but when you end up trading someone who never started it's a kick in the pants.

What else? Acres in and out was a pain but IIRC I had Crouch and Acres on my mid bench, Crouch was still getting game time and had a low-ish BE and Acres injury was foreseeably for the season - and that's panned out, even if he comes back this week he's a meaningless venture. So was I supposed to hang on to a guaranteed donut?

Jroo

I'm happy with 30 trades, I reckon that's enough.

colmullet

yeah i don't want more, it just takes a lot of the skill and strategy out of the game, yeah injuries happen but if ya use your trades well financially 30 is well enough, ive had plenty of injuries but still have 24 premos and 2 trades left

I count 28 trades there might have miscounted so if you have 2 left it would be 2 trades that you could have done without , but still say 30 is enough think people are just overreacting to one bad week of injuries you give everyone 50 trades and there would be still people saying they need more , you know why because they are addictive little things that you have to control ha ha  ;)
PS as for naming trades that you could have done without 8 used in the bye rounds over 1/4 of trades used in three rounds  ;)

HotTiges

A wildcard like in FPL would throw the cat amongst the pigeons!

Correct, still two remaining, but according to your logic I'm about to waste those two remaining trades ;)

I suspect most people would have used 8 or 9 trades over the byes, that was prime time for upgrading and cash grabbing. Not sure how that means they are trades I could've done without, Considering I got in Jelwood, Mummy, Bartel, Hibberd and Roughy as keepers, Ambrose and Lennon as good downgrade options and Acres as the only dud...
