Must win Semi. What trades will net me more points?

My opponent this week and I have Dal Santo, SJ & Dalhaus in common, amongst others. I am wondering what you all think is a better option to beat him this week.

These are the things I have to think about for each option:

Option 1: I'll keep Heath Shaw for maybe only this week as he plays melbourne. I think he plays a role similar to birchall who scored over 100 against melbourne last week. This option means I can bring in Priddis but I will have to field Dalhaus in the forward line.

Option 2: The logic behind SJ to Ebert is that my opponent has Ebert and this trade would negate his impact. This would allow me to upgrade Dalhaus to Franklin but I would have to field either Birchall or NDS in the back line.

I have 30k in the bank and this is my team:

def: hanley, swallow, mcveigh, bartel, simpson, NDS (birchall, bews)
mid: pendles, SJ, beams, cotchin, barlow, selwood, kennedy, rockliff (barry, o'biren)
ruck: jacobs, martin (naismith, currie)
fwd: gray, chapman, martin, parker, danger, dalhaus (kersten, herbert)

I'm open to anything else you can give me.

Cheers!

Priddis is the best guy in that lot, however massive risk on Shaw.  I'd back Franklin 115+ and I'm bringing him in.  Ebert should do well against GC but a bit down on form, what are your other options at his price?

Gaff, Shuey or could be good options this week and for the final two weeks as they play pretty weak opposition I think.

How about -

SJ > Greene
Dalhaus > McGlynn

Greene is an interesting option. Doesn't have the best record against the dees but is in good form and the dees are not.

I wont be able to afford McGlynn with that trade though, I'd only be able to get Franklin.

Thanks for the input

I do like the look of Gaff but is that too high risk when I can just negate his player by bringing in Ebert?

Not a massive fan of Ebert, but he may be your best option.

I think Stevie J does need to go. He was on crutches this week, and the interview he just gave made it sound like he is unlikely to play "not ruling [playing] out".... and its a Friday game, so short-turn around. Oh, and he plays Carlton and is coming off a 58. I got rid of him last week and I think it was a great trade.

You'll be touch and go depending on how much exactly "$30k" is.... but, thought about Jack? Sure, it doesn't "negate" Ebert... but Swans are playing Saints who give up a shower-tonne of tonnes...so you are almost guaranteed 95+, so Ebert won't beat you by much.... but, you probably have a larger ceiling.... and more likely to get 95+.? Maybe? Or am I full of shower?

Scrap that.

-Stevie J (Carlton)
+Swan (Brisbane, GWS)

-Dahlhaus
+Franklin.

Mr.Craig

As far as mids go - Fyfe hasn't scored lower than 94 at Patersons all year and averages 95 vs Hawthorn. If his shoulder holds up he should do well. Heppell has a very handy record at Etihad (117 ave if you ignore his stinker in Round 5) and has gone 100+ in his last 3. Treloar hasn't gone below 89 in his career against Melbourne and had a massive 159 vs them last time out. Like Heppell, Bryce Gibbs has an excellent record at Etihad (112 this year, with a low of 67 vs St Kilda ironically given that's who Heppell performed poorly against too).

Forwards are a lottery, I'm not making any suggestions there.

Thinking this is the go at the moment.

Really think Franklin is a good trade this week and all other mids that have been listed I can't afford if I want Franklin.

Buddy FTW!

I reckon bringing in Swan is the go. Tough call on trade 2, I reckon it would be between Franklin and Jack. How will McGlynn being out impact him??

Buddy for me due cash cash restrictions but I would still go to him if I had enough for Jack only due to the fact he has a history of kicking bags against the saints.

Jack is cheaper than Franklin by 10k. Im so tempted to just bring in Franklin instead.

And in response to the above posts. I think it is a bad idea to cover off any player unless it is Rocky. Priddis will outscore him anyway and I would still think that Swan can outscore him too if he can get through the game without pulling up sore at any point.
