In response to

Chumps

so just to be clear, every time Dublin does trades its all fine to just say , nah Dublin cant do any trades that improve their list (which is the aim of trading) even though we all know they are fair as its bad for the comp.

But than Mexico which has been a top 3 team for 3 years in a row is allowed to overtake and take the premiership favourite tag for no reason except they are not Dublin and I should sit back and take that.

Mexico has been up for 3 years, I built my list from the bottom. Why should I be held back while the other super teams are allowed to continually dominate. If you remember I didn't even finish top last year, I think it was Mexico. They have much better depth as I was not allowed to get depth. I also haven't been allowed to freely changed my structure.
You needed up getting Sloane and Roughy, so what's the big deal.

The other trades that have failed, have been unfair  (such as the Bennell and WHE one).

that Sloane deal was a loss but a strucutal improvement, I overpaid and my advisers agreed.

Mundy + 12 got me Gibbs and that was rejected.
Hansen could have got me Sandi

so Basically I could have got Rocky for 12 + Mundy + Hansen if I was allowed to freely trade.

Also Dillos preferred my Swan deal but took a lower offer and that happened twice.
Sloane is much better than Boak (doesn't get tagged) and same with Roughy (won't lose fwd status + better scorer), so I don't think you overpaid.

They were at different times, no one wanted picks earlier but as it's getting closer to the draft people wanted them more.

And no, I wouldn't have done Sandi for Hansen.

You were allowed to trade your Mundy trade passed, but it included Black from the other deal which failed, I think.

you offered me Sandi for Hansen I rejected it, I have the PM

they wanted picks, I was told I couldn't trade picks for depth.
I don't remember that, but I remember talking about it. But didn't want to do it after I got SDT, as didn't need defenders.

You can't really use that as an argument though. "I was offered Zac Dawson for Ablett (wouldn't surprise if NDT actually were) so now I can trade him for anyone in the comp and it would be fair"

I've already updated my team thread and list lodgement to include Sandi and Gibbs and if the trade fails again I will have to go back and fix it. That's a loss of 9 seconds of my life so I don't know how you can block it again if you have any conscience at all.

Lets not lose sight of what's really important, the Rocky trade ;)

I'm still trying to get the 9 minutes of my life back that I lost to watching the music video of Telephone by Lady Gaga feat Beyonce. I still don't even know why I sat through it.

The Rocky trade? Our decision won't change even if people keep discussing this until November 2020.  :P

Can't disagree on the Dawson front.

meow meow

Why is it the Rocky trade? Why can't it be called the Gibbs trade?

If Sandilands was going to be traded for a pick, what range would the pick have to be within?

Vin got pick 15 + extras for Swan, a (former and maybe again) premo with 2 years left. Sandi would be in the same 15-20 range, right?

I'd personally value Swan higher than Sandi, due to Swan not having the injury history Sandi has, and that Sandi could easily retire at the end of 2015 (Even though he says for now he wants to play 2016)

I'd say a 2nd round pick would be fair for Sandi, something in the mid 20's.

It just depends I guess, if anything else was added etc

I mean, if you got Pick 18 for him as an example, I think I would be fine with that.

I was offered pick 6 (that was before priority picks were announced) + a player upgrade, early in the trade period.

Thanks. If every other team could give their opinion that'd be great so we can figure out what he is worth, then amend the trade accordingly.

that's where I would put him too. Swan is 2 years younger and as you said doesn't have that ongoing injury history that Sandi has.

Swan is also chance of DPP which needs to be factored in. Swanhad the possibility that he could be  a 105+ 30 year old forward but more likely a 100+ 30 year mid.

so yeah around 25 is what I think he is worth.

Memphistopheles

For the record the club involved had nothing to do with me suggesting to Chumps we neg the trade (and he was clearly of the same opinion as me).

It would not have mattered if it had been Dublin or NDT involved on the other side - the deal is unfair and New York are losing out big time.

Bennell > Gunston

Libba > Boak

Both the guys on the left are younger as well.

Something has to be added on the side of the person getting Bennell and Libba for this one to pass from our perspective. If you don't add anything and re-submit as is like the other deal then our vote won't change.

Yes Swanny slightly ahead.

But remember they got more than pick 15, they got a couple of ok depth players too.
