But on the other hand Ringo, SC awards more points for players that have an impact on the game, and as we should be winning more games now, Rocky's possessions will be worth more points, so that would give his avg a small lift as well. And he averaged 130ish in the 2nd half of last year with Rich and Redden both in the team. I can't really see him going under 120, and I can't see Gibbs getting that close to 110 either. Obviously it's all going to come down to personal opinions of how everyone thinks those two guys will go over the next few years, but I'd say meow is losing this trade by more than how much NY are losing the Bennell trade.

Geeez, took me about 20 minutes to catch up on all the talk in here today!
Haha this.

Yeah no chance Rocky will close to 130 IMO. He only started to find a lot of the ball when he had no mids, lol. Now Rich, Redden, Beams, Christo and Robbo come into that midfield and he's going to drop his output. I see him going 115-120 (which is still awesome, mind you).

I like Gibbs and yeah I reckon he's still got improvement too. Blues may be on the slide, but not sure how that effects him? Lions were shower last year and Rocky dominated?

Gilbert WAS a good scorer, but he's close to finished. They'll use him for a year or two and them dump him when they're kids are developed, or until he gets injured  ::)

Now Sandi is a gun, you can't say he's worth next to nothing. Played close to every game this year and averaged close to 110 to make him one of the highest scoring players in the comp. Even if he does miss games, he's still scores well, just look at previous year's averages.

So Gibbs is 26 next year and obvioulsy still has room to improve... but Rocky is 25 and has less chance? :o

In 2012 Swan averaged 126, Pendlebury 124, Beams 123, and Sidebottom 106... so talk of Redden, Beams and co taking points off Rocky means little. Pies were a successful side but midfielders still find the footy in lesser sides.

Basically you can't argue that Rocky will definitely drop back in ave and then argue that Gibbs will increase, and vice versa. Both have equal chance to improve/drop off

Yes of course Rocky has less chance of improving.

Rocky has peaked, how can he get much better than an average of 130, lol.

As I had I don't expect him to find as much ball next year, he was they're only decent mid apart from Pearce and Zorko.

They had guys like Bewick, Aish and co. in the mids last year, someone had to find the ball, there's no chance Rocky will be able to find the ball this year with Beams, Redden, Rich, Christo, Robbo all there.

Why can't i? That's my opinion.

Yes. Rocky has peaked, how can he get much better than an average of 130, lol. Gibbs can easily get better.

Apart from Hanley and Zorko, they had Bewick, Aish and co. In the mids last year, Someone had to find the ball, there's no chance Rocky will be able to find the ball this year with Beams, Redden, Rich, Christo, Robbo all there.
At a similar age, Ablett went from 114 to 132. He then went to 140 the next year. No-one would have thought that possible back then. Rocky will probably never be the player that Ablett has become in real life, but in terms of fantasy scoring, why can't he?

meow meow

Sandi > Gilbert by 35 ppg for 2 years
Rocky > Gibbs by 15 ppg for 5 years

20 point improvement for the next 2 seasons, then a 15 point loss for the 3 seasons after that. How is that not even?

Also, Zorko is gonna get a lot less mid time. Christo and Robbo won't get a lot. Hanley will get less. Rich (I'm hoping) will be played off half back. And as I said before, the fact that we'll be winning games in itself should mean a points increase to balance out any points he loses from Beams (which is the only player I can really see having an effect on him).

RaisyDaisy

Everyone keeps talking about Rich, Redden, Zorko, Hanley, Beams and Christo taking points off Rocky

Don't forget Stef Martin!

I don't agree with your argument either.

Because you guys will win more games = Rocky's possessions more points.

Well he won't be finding as much of the ball, so even if you do he still will drop.

Yeah Zorko should play more up fwd, but Christo and Robbo will spend more time in the mids than up fwd. One of Hanley or Rich will have to play as a full-time mid, too.

kilbluff1985

JROO you need to believe

meow meow

You don't get any more points for a handball in a winning team. A hard ball win then effective handball scores the same in a win as it does in a loss.

You said Rocky has peaked and Gibbs hasn't, yet Rocky is a year younger....

You said that players will still steal points off each other. I showed you that...
In 2012 Swan averaged 126, Pendlebury 124, Beams 123, and Sidebottom 106
Another example is in 2009 Ablett went 140, Jelwood 111, Chappy 115, Bartel 109, Corey 108

Midfielders only tend to drop away if they are forced out of midfield rotations. Rocky is still a top 3 mid at Brisbane
If anything they will win more footy because they'll have a stronger core group and he will improve

no it doesn't if it's a close game and it's one of the reasons the team won they get influence points

or if they lose in a close game the winning team can take points off them
