They were similar players in the U/18's but the difference is that Fyfe put on some bulk and is now a contested ball winning machine who had big midfield minutes. WHE has shown no signs of doing that, so his scoring is going to be limited. WHE shouldn't even have mid status. He's not going to average any more than 80. There's a couple of players who might be around at 11 who have all the tools to dish up a 75 average in their first year so the trade was uneven.

do you want a medal or something?
If you're giving them out, I'll take one.

This is why:

Jack Gunston and Travis Boak FOR Tom Rockliff and Josh Green
Tom Rockliff and Sam Gilbert FOR Bryce Gibbs and Aaron Sandilands

So essentially you have gone: Gunston, Boak and Gilbert FOR Gibbs, Sandilands and Green.

:o

Isn't the aim of the game to score the most points?

Gibbs = Boak
Green = Gilbert
Sandi > Gunston (20 points)

Obviously Sandi is getting old, but that's the price I have to pay for a small improvement in the output of the best XV now.

In 2 years Sandi and Gilbert will be gone, Boak and Gibbs will still be even, and Gunston will be outscoring Green by 20 points.

There's nothing wrong with making fair, even trades.
I didn't say the trade was unfair, I just said it didn't make sense to me and I wouldn't have done it myself.

Better get one for Dave too or he'll get upset.

Come on guys. When Swan was traded for Scharenberg (#5 Pick last year, #3 in WXV draft) you all said that Swan was worth much more than that and rejected it. Obviously he isn't worth a Top 5 pick but no one is offering anything half decent at all. :(
