Was there ever any doubt that Gunston would end up at Dublin as soon as meow publicly tabled him?  :P

Good trade though guys.

He isn't at Dublin yet, I need the trade to pass .

Who knows if that will hsppen

I can't think of a single reason why it won't. It can't get negged for any reason whatsoever.

Raw numbers: Almost identical
Gunston 90.35 and Boak 105.71 = 196.06
Rockliff 132.00 and Green 66.15 = 198.15

Age when they line up in round 1: Almost identical
Green 22, Rockliff 25
Gunston 23, Boak 26

How it affects Dublin: slightly weakens their best XV
Before: Rocky (c) 260, Selwood 120, Walters 75 - Green 66 on the bench = 455
After: Selwood (c) 240, Boak 105, Gunston 90 - Walters 75 on the bench = 435, better bench cover

How it affects Christchurch:
Before: Boak (c) 211 + Gunston 90 = 301
After: Rocky (c) 260 + Green 66 = 326

That is assuming that Rocky can keep his 130 average up with the addition of Beams, Christensen, and the return of Rich and Redden. DOUBTFUL. For this trade to make zero difference to my total score (301 each), Rockliff needs to average 117.5, which I think is about right, and way more likely than keeping up the 130 average. If he can somehow manage it, I have a tiny win.

If the Rocky 117.5 average happens, Dublin's "before" score would be 432.5 (Selwood captain), which is almost identical to their "after" score, although with the "after" score they have a better bench, and they have a tiny win.

Either way it is not worth of rejecting. It is as close to dead even as any trade in the history of trades.

Nice spiel mate.

I think Dublin win this one pretty easily though despite trading away Rockliff.

I don't think he'll keep it up (the super high possession totals) and Boak seems to be continually improving. I can see that gap between them in scoring closing next season.

And then Gunston is a hell of a lot better than Green. I think this trade strengthens his team quite a bit.

Having said that I don't think I'd neg it though.

Haha holy shower, what did I start?  :o :P

Can you tell me how it improves his team "quite a bit"? I'm failing to see how.

Boak's scoring didn't improve one bit last year so I don't know where that theory came from, but okay. Even if Rockliff averages 120 and Boak 110 it's not going to make an enormous difference. Assuming Selwood is Dublin's captain, and assuming Walters doesn't average more than 75 again...

Before: Rocky (120), Walters (75) - Green 65 on bench = 195
After: Boak (110), Gunston (90) - Walters on bench = 200

Christchurch:
Before: Boak (220), Gunston (90) = 310
After: Rockliff (240), Green (65) = 305

It's like trading a 100 averaging player for a 97.5 averaging player who is one year younger. Simply cannot be blocked.

In the case of Boak going 110 and Rocky 120, Dublin have the slightest win (5 points, which would equate to +0.5 in WXV scores), and improve their F5 but at the expense of another captain option. If Walters averages 85 instead of 75, Dublin's "before" team would outscore their "after" team 205 to 200 ( -0.5 in WXV scores).

If anyone has any of these players up for trade I'd be interested in bringing them to Christchurch. I shouldn't have traded out one of them, he was the best player in the land in the under 12's.

kilbluff1985

hope i'm not the only one who has NFI who they are

Hellopplz

I can't even tell who most of them are... But I sense two of them MAY be Hallahan and Shiel (first left in the 2nd bottom row and bottom row)? That's going by looks sort of...

I honestly don't even know where you found a pic like that :P.

Shiel and Patton are easy. Tomlinson looks pretty similar I think (blonde kid on the right). Next to him is Elliot Kavanagh, next to him is Michael Talia. Across from him is Nick O'Brien, and across from him is Jordan Kelly. Up in the top right corner is none other than Brad Crouch.
Dom Tyson is obvious once you know he is in there. Standing behind him is Devon Smith.

I don't really want to trade these guys in, just gave you something to do.

Vinny

Haha yeah I only saw Patton and Shiel.
