I think the idea of 'high quality depth' is what irks people. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of it.

You've got arguably the best team in the competition and few injuries and whatnot would obviously bring you back to the pack which you've acknowledged. Happened to PNL in 2013 and we saw how good they can be with a bit of luck, similar situation at Cairo as well.

There's nothing wrong with trying to get the best list though, that's partially what this whole thing is about, I'm just not a fan.  :P

The thing is unlike any other team im not allowed to build up this quality depth despite offering fair deals. So if i build up my XV people have issue with it, I build up my next best 5 people have issue with it. Its essentially a ban on trading.

can i ask why these were allowed?

Trade 62
Mexico City give: Brad Ebert, Tim Membrey + Picks 19, 26
Mexico City receive: Bryce Gibbs, Sam Gilbert, Liam McBean

Trade 54
Mexico City Suns give: Brad Hill + Blake Acres + Dean Terlich
Buenos Aires Dildos give: Brent Harvey + James Kelly + Pick 18

the last one in particular. Suns were allowed to get quality depth from Dillos and if they get injuries are in better shape than Dublin.

It is a bit of a double standard it seems but I think people see Dublin as more of a threat/good team than Mex City? Mayeb they'd rather two really good teams on the same level so are allowing them to improve?

I can't say for sure though as I haven't been voting :P

At what point will Holz(or whoever the best team is) be alllowed to improve their starting XVs? Eventually Holz will run out of trade ammo and severely deplete his depth, which will only hurt him next year.

Like does he have to wait until other teams are better than him before he can trade to improve his best XVs?
Asking this again. Need to know because one day NDT will be in this position ;)

Master Q

I'd take Brad Hill + Blake Acres + Dean Terlich over Pick 12 + Pick 21 + Luke Delaney + Shuan Grigg + Sam Frost + Neville Jetta + George Hewett

Yeah I was actually giving up quality kids (well not Terlich  :P).
Apart from the picks Holz offered the other guys have little value.

Acres was pick 18 last year, hasnt showed more than we expected from him and picked up injuries
Hill i picked up with pick 31 a few years back

If you draft properly than 12 + 21 should get better players than these guys. So 12 + 21 better than Hill Acres . than the bundle of players easily beats just terlich.

Wait so Holz is pretty much banned from trading? Not being allowed to improve his XV is the same as not being allowed to trade, you don't trade to weaken your team.

There's no official ban but his trades keep getting blocked by the coaches...

Jay

It's not his fault he is a much better trader than everyone else in this comp. People can't be blocking trades out of fear, that's not right.

Acres is a freak. Or will be a freak. Played 3 games including a 91.
Can't believe you just judged a player by where they were drafted. Hill is a 75 avg forward in a good team who has only played 3 seasons.
Terlich is a solid D4/depth back. No world beater but easily worth some of the duds you listed.

I didn't block your trade btw Holz. We didn't block any trades this week.

I do especially for acres as people seem to massively underrate picks, even after Acres was taken at pick 18 last year. If you know what your doing the picks are good. A good coach should be able to find someone better than acres with 12. Hill i knew would be good and picked him at 31. You can find players like this in the draft.

Yep. Like the Dillos, we got older guys that a majority of the teams don't want as they have an idea of going super young and don't want veterans to compete. Holz is one of the only ones that want them and he isn't allowed to get them because he becomes too strong?

This equalization thing is getting outta control imo.

All this has nothing to do with equalisation.

Fairly sure it was established a while ago that most coaches don't really give a shower about equalisation.

Vinny

Then what does negging trades because Dublin is getting too strong mean?

JBs-Hawks

Who is negging them then because it seems like everyone here is saying Holz's trades should be fine?
