To think when I was offered the trade I almost rejected it .

I have massive concerns on libba , he massively struggled when griff was out of the side, he dropped to like an 80 average. He could pick up the tag every week and drop in average. I have a lot of question marks about him but I do want you quality mids and even though he is risky I'm taking the punt.

Sure Boak doesn't have as much upside but he is a safe 105+ , he picks the tag up nearly every week and producers . If people start tagging others he can lift, but it's unlikely he will drop like libba could.

In terms of bennell people in this comp talk him up way way too much. If you think he will stay a forward long term than you should throw half your team at him. I believe he has greater than 75% chance of being dpp next year but I expect him to be a mid only the year after if not the year after that lock it in.

He is a midfielder and I'm hoping he can turn into a 105-110 mid. He is small and injury prone and I can see him always throwing in the low games to ever turn him into an elite midfielder.

Gunston however will always be a forward. Take our his green vest game and he has gone 86 90 the last two seasons as a 23 year old kpp forward. I gave up Rocky to chase this guy.

The way I see it I'm giving a 105-107 mid + 90-93 forward for a 100-115 mid + 105-110 mid.

Sure I have the potential to win on this trade big but I have the potential to lose big too.  Boak is a safe quality mid and gunston.is a elite forward back to back at 23. Libba is a guy who has shown potential far above Boak but never been tested with a tag. Bennell is a small framed. Injury prone player who is super inconsistent but showed an ability to Maybe be amazing.

You need to see the downside in these players not just the upside.

I was very very nervous to lock this trade in.

Just a small one for nigey. I do plan to be up the top forever but not because I can manipulate and talk people into trades but because I get players with potential who I value and I feel they pay off more often than not. This trade I'm nervous on.

Scharemberg on the other hand I have soo much more faith in. I actually think he is better than swan but wanted to help the dillos. As soon as I saw they could get something semi decent for him I pulled my trade.

meow meow

If you're nervous about Libba send him to me. If NY had have offered me that trade for Boak and Gunston I would have taken it in 0.002 seconds.

RaisyDaisy

I feel like the trade is even for both clubs, and there are risks for both teams involved, but that goes with nearly every trade anyway

You don't understand how much I love Libba. He is a tackling machine, which is why he is built for SC. Yeah he will get tagged from time to time, but his stinkers are still low 80's which isn't that bad at all for being tagged, and he has a massive ceiling too

Gunston was the key in this trade for us. He is a KPP who can sit in our forward line for the next 10 years, and playing for the best club should see him averaging around 90+ for years to come. Libba is just as young, but there are much more young mids who can push 115 compared to the lack of YOUNG forwards who can push 90+

I wouldn't do a stand alone trade of Libba for Boak in a million years, because although they both have massive ceilings, Boak puts up more sub 80 scores than Libba does, and consistency is something I rate hugely in SC.

Bennell is the real wild card here, because IMO he is a lock to get DPP in 2015, and I seriously think he could get it beyond 2015 too, but I'm banking on him not getting it, which is why Boak and Gunston as a package should suit us more long term

Just making the change on our team sheet makes our side look so much more balanced now

I don't think this trade is going to backfire horribly for any team and that's the main thing for me.

Last day today gents, best of of luck!

Ricochet

Ok lads last day...

- N3 and N4 are on the table which pretty much locks away 2 of Petrecca Heeney McCartin or Brayshaw.
We are looking for a good mid with one of these picks, or can package one with something else for a captain option.
If we can't move one/both of these then we are more than happy to go to the draft.

- N54, N59, N64, N70, N88 are also on the table.
Looking to either move up the draft or to bring in a player. We're a bit better off now with the cap so not looking for spuds with heaps of points.

- Robbie Warnock also on the table for a fwd or midfielder. Can package up picks or another player for something.
Obviously he is 2nd behind Krooz at the Blues but we know how injury prone he is. In terms of scoring ability he is a lot better than other premo rucks at a similar age. At 26yrs old was the first time Minson went 80+ and he went 82. The first time Sandi went 75+ was 26yrs old. The first time Maric went 73+ was 26 also. At 24 Warnock went 86, at 25 it was 82, then 26 went 88 #gun #premomaterial

- CPearce also on the table. Very good chance to get DEF/FWD status and has produced premo numbers in the past. Was a ball magnet as a junior. 2014 was rough for Clancee off the field involving his child but that's all sorted now and expect him to be back in Freo's 22 in 2015. His ball use is very important to Freo, especially because he can find so much of it.

- Trengove. There's no secret he has had another setback with the screws being taken out of his foot. But the former early draft pick should be back at some point in 2015 and obvioulsy has ability. We could pair him with another pick/player.
We're happy to hold though, as he is basement value atm and will only have greater value at the end of 2015 when he gets back on the park.

- JImpey, ZWilliams, Hartigan, Ellis-Yolmen, DTalia, Cheney, SEdwards, CGiles, ZDawson, JKelly, LRT, Rutten are our current DEF depth and we would like to add a pick or player to one of these boys for a slightly better defender, forward or mid.

- All other players are on the table for a reasonable offers. Ideally we'd like to pair with other picks or players to improve our starting XV

Vinny

Schulz and Chappy are being shipped off for the highest picks available, seperately.

Unless someone wants to offer a good pick for the package.

Libba > Boak
Bennell > Gunston

But clearly AK/RD are after Gunston as he'll be a fwd his whole career, Harley won't be.
Gunston > Bennell

Even trade.
Bennell > Gunston
Gunston > Bennell.

Gunston is a forward, Bennell is not (in the long run). Surprised anyone would even trade him.

I disagree with this completely.

I believe Bennell will not only get fwd next season but he will keep it for multiple seasons. The reason? Because of how dangerous he is close to goal. Has anyone actually watched him in action - he's very hard for defenders to stop and has natural goalscoring instincts and the Suns will want to capitalise on this like the Tigers did this year with Dusty.

The Suns will want to continue using him in a midfield/forward picket/flank role because he has more value in this role which means he will keep dpp long term. Especially given how many other good up and coming midifelders they have at the Gold Coast - Hallahan's arrival and Jesse Lonergan's development will mean Bennell getting dpp is even more likely imo.

He'll be like a Devon Smith type at GWS this season except Bennell as a forward with mid time

So Bennell > Gunston and Libba > Boak (due to age). I also think Libba has a lote more potential than Boak due to certain other Dogs players getting a tag in the future when they develop but that's another story.

Holz tries to make a convincing case that he was umming and ahhing about this trade but you're not fooling me - there's a very  clear winner of this trade in my opinion.

RaisyDaisy

Last chance to get a defender

Sam Fisher: Yes he has had injury problems and is old, but he is capable of going 90+ and has expressed how keen he is to go on and says his body is right now

Heath Grundy: Can average 75-80, and could possibly even go mid 80's. Is only 28 which for defenders isn't that bad

Michael Firrito: Averaged 75 this year which again is actually very good for defensive cover

If any of these 3 interest you, shoot me a PM

In other news - I will be around all day today to talk last-minute trades.

We're looking to move up the draft order and will also be looking at any deals which could improve our starting XV.

Boomz

Ted Richards, Trent West, Jacob Townsend, Tayte Pears, Sam Lloyd, Ashley Smith, Nicholas O'Brien, Tim Golds, Will Hams, Daniel Flynn, Mitch Clisby, Brodie Murdoch, Alex Browne, Jared Rivers, Seb Ross are all still available. Keen to upgrade my late picks or get picks no lower than 60...

Here's another update for you on the Cobras deadline day trade intentions.

If anyone has any interest in the following players in exchange for a draft pick please let me know.

Alex Johnson, Campbell Heath, Alex Sexton, Josh Cowan, Michael Evans, Jordan Schroder, Matt Dick, Lewis Pierce, Billie Smedts and Peter Yagmoor.

Other players I'm happy to put on the deadline day trade table (for picks or players) are as follows.

James Gwilt, Will Schofield, Brant Colledge, Lachie Plowman, Jimmy Toumpas, Adam Cooney, Craig Bird, Edward Curnow, Trent Dumont, Darcy Lang, Stewart Crameri, Dean Kent, Sam Reid, Mitch Honeychurch, Cam McCarthy and Brandon Jack.

It's highly unlikely we'll trade any of our other players barring a very, very good offer or an adequate replacement.

We would also be happy to package some of our picks for an improved pick in the draft. We currently have (trade pending) Nat 45, 47, 52, 57 and 61

Purple 77

Putting Jason Tutt out there (74 averaging forward), would accept a dinosaur if they score OK. A mid is desired, but will listen to stuff.

Holz

If people rate bennell soo highly why haven't people put in huge offers for him..

If you think he is a 100 average forward for the next 10 years, throw your team at him.

Throw your team at him.

Don't think that'd be enough from us :(
