The deal suited both teams.

We now have a good starting XV for next year and balanced cover which is what we aimed for.

He said short term fix cause Duffield is 29 and in two years, he is out of the equation and JJK is 29 whilst Treloar is still about 23. So yeah it is a short term fix man. ;)

We can go around in circles all day...

Funny how it's the bottom 2 teams who are having a go at us for this trade....

We have made trades that will get us out of the bottom 4 and into the top 4. Our list wont have any players retire for the next few years too and we have plenty of young players.

If you guys are making decisions that will benefit your team in 5 years time, and get smashed until then, then that is your choice

If every coach coached the same, then the comp would be boring. Just because you might have a view on something another team is doing, doesn't mean its right

the only problem i have with the whole thing is you assuming you will be top 4 got plenty of comp for that :P...lol

Ricochet

Dublin Give: Pick 12 + Pick 21 + Luke Delaney + Shuan Grigg + Sam Frost + Neville Jetta + George Hewett
Dillos Give: Dane Swan + Paul Chapman

Barlow is worth roughly N2 + N4 + N22 and is 3 years younger than Swan with similar scoring ability. So Swan should be worth N12 + N21 + a a couple of average players (Delaney/Jetta). Chappy has a year or two left and won't play a full season so he's only worth like Grigg + a couple of average players Frost/Hewett.

Its not exactly even but not sure how this didn't pass and actually feel sorry for Holz. He is actually trying to help but cops shower for it.

The comp will be worse off if Nails/Vin have to hold onto Swan and Chappy because noone other than Holz will pay their worth. It will be Montags all over again. The Dildos won't be in a premiership window while these two are still around and next year they will be another year on and hold less value

Master Q

They're allowed to trade them. Just for the right price. And in this trade they're getting too much.

They traded Stevie J and others.

Ricochet

How are they getting too much? Swan is worth N12 + N21 + Delaney + Jetta by himself if Barlow is worth N2 + N4 + N22

You guys really think Dublin going undefeated is good for the comp?

Buenos Aires are a top 4 team three years in a row, this talk of needing a dramatic rebuild is premature

kilbluff1985

Swan isn't worth that much and Chappy is worth pick 21 maybe

i think Swan is worth around pick 12

Rejecting trades because teams are too strong isn't good for the comp.

Agree that Dildo's weren't necessarily at that re-build point but thats the coaches decision and its already started when Barlow went for N2 N4 N22

Delaney and Jetta are 26-24 next year and never gone over 70ave and have questionable JS in the past. Swan still has 2 years left on his current contract plus another year or two possibly. Is an elite scorer and has had a down year due to injury. Plus a slight chance of fwd status. He is worth that

Swanny is done. He averaged 86.4 according to FF, compared to Barlow's 111. Not sure how that is "similar". Barlow is 27, and in his prime. Swan is 30 and doesn't look like he is in great shape  :P

If you look at our scores over the last 8 rounds we would've been probably bottom 4-6 for scoring average. Dillos hit a wall, rebuild is a must.

Just added my thoughts on Swanny above. Basically a season ruined by injury. Has elite scoring potential and a slight chance of fwd status. One down year doesn't change his scoring ability

RD gone very early with that prediciton  :o We decided we needed a balance between fixing our forward issues and balancing our very good young depth with experience which hopefully will pay dividends.

Just for comparison,  in AXV  Swan was traded for  Ricky Henderson+ Rohan Bail
