He's had to bide his time at VFL level this season, but Mason Wood is clearly heading in the right direction.

In a sign of the club's faith in his ability, the 20-year-old forward has been handed a new two-year deal. Wood delighted to secure his future at Arden Street.

"Having only played VFL footy they've (the coaches) obviously seen something in me and it was a pretty easy decision to sign on," Wood told NMFC.com.au.

"I couldn't think of anyone that would want to leave because I think we all know we've got something special here."
