SMitch is a popular choice for those needing a defender. But he showed why I didn't want him. He'll have caff-Crowley in finals. Was looking at Hibbo- what about Hodge? Will he be rested and is how likely is he to get injured?
I have Swallow,McVeigh,Hurn,Simpson,Bartel
Eski expensive and tag worries me with him also-
Anyone else to consider?

Ok there's Birch who can be a consistent 90+ player but Hodge bigger ceiling..

I think he could be a great POD! Especially with Mitchell back to take some of the attention away from him.

Only concern is of course is the risk of an injury, but he has been on quite a roll this season.

Doubt he will get rested either with the Hawk's tough draw in the last 3 weeks. Worth a punt I reckon!

Get Mitchell. Got bulldogs this week then Melbourne in week 1 of finals. If you win week one and are in top 4 then you will have week off wen he plays Crowley. Crowley hasn't tagged that well this year anyway. Then he should do well against Geelong. Should score well enough against maccafer.

If cash isn't an issue then Hodge could be an option, as he'll make a good POD.
The only downside is he's likely to be rested. If he's sore, the Hawks won't risk him.

Fair point about Crowley in week 2 - but what happens if I lose week 1? Less likely to be rested than Hodge I guess..
But won't Dees tight tag Mitch too?

Dayze

I reckon the tag mite switch off Mitchell and onto Isaac smith.
Been looking like tearing games to shreds ATM and I can see Mitchell getting loose.

Yes the tag might switch - or it might not. Too hard to tell and Mitch can struggle big time with tag

Mitchell was still a little rusty last week and his possessions were under pressure. But he still got alot of it don't forget.
Only has to improve efficiency slightly to improve his scores.

Again fair point- but how will it improve under pressure from caff/Crowley/Guthrie/whoever Dees use?

Mitchell has been a 100+ scorer for years, and isnt getting tagged any more now than he was before...

True but he is slowing down and doesn't deal with tag as well as others- in fact has been shut down on many occasions- and it's 2 of the best current taggers(Crowley/caff) hes up against if it was Hocking/Cornes I wouldn't be worried
