Final mid

Yeah yeah, last minute finishing my midfield, get over it ;D

I have one spot to fill, $587k (320k cash + Crouch) to spend, so I can afford anyone except Priddis currently.

At the moment I have Rocky, JPK, Pendles, Fyfe, Jelwood, Beams, Prestia, Miles (MCrouch, Honeychurch)

I'm trading Crouch so I can keep Miles as bench cover/loophole option.

I'm thinking Ward based largely off highest average so far and a pretty nice draw for the last few rounds. Libba also a nice draw and has shown he can kill it but massively fallen off as of late. Stevie J finding form again and has the history to back him up, bit of an average start to the season. Sloane has been pretty consistent and coming off his worst score of the season expect him to bounce back...

Once you do this trade you will have a superb starting 8 midfield. Miles at M9 is fantastic cover too. Well done!

I voted for Ward purely because he has been the best performed this year out of your available options. The only worry I have with him is his form against the Doggies which GWS play in the SC Grand Final. He has only averaged 60.3 against his old team. With Wallis out for the year, Ward might have a bit of freedom to do as he pleases and hopefully he goes big.

I also would say Ward but I am biased have had him since about half way gun ;)

Yeh I would grab Ward mate. SJ would have been my other pick but you've kind of missed the boat with him now that a) his price has jumped up and b) Geelong have missed that nice run of easy teams

I voted for Sloane as a POD for you.

Sloane had his break out year in 2012 and looking at draw here are his averages by opponent for final 5 games:
Eagles 127
Lions 88 (only had 2 games against them)
Tigers 86 (also only 2 games against them)
Roos 121
Saints 117

Could be a nice POD in semi final and GF.

I like Libba, he has a good draw and with Griffen back he should stay away from the tag.

I voted for SJ based on his last month and his potential to go big, but looking at Ward's last month and season, he has been incredibly consistent. I think either of these two would compliment your excellent midfield (envious) perfectly.

Nothing wrong with finishing the midfield late, Miles has been excellent at M8 for me, and with only two trades left I am still gonna go with him until it is safe to use my last trades for upgrading.

Ward. There are 'ifs' associated with Libba (Griffen) and SJ (brain explosions, injury).

Sloane is a POD but averages less.

Wards contested stats and tackles are very SC friendly too.

if you dont have him already i do like Ward
will be my first pick next year i think as well, hes had a great year and has alot of room to improve still

Ward- right age, won't get rested, no early surgery required, does not rely on others to take the tag, one bad score all year.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I think I'm going to go with Ward still, appreciate the other ideas for POD but of those 4 he's actually the lowest ownership % (Libba and Johnson both 20%, Sloane 8% and Ward 6%). Also pretty unique in my cash league which is the main focus now, I'm dead in the water in FF Bronze which is where he'll be more popular...
