COLLINGWOOD's prized top draft pick Matthew Scharenberg is set to play his long-awaited first VFL game for the club on Sunday.
...
He is unlikely to be considered for senior selection this year as the Magpies have opted to take a long-term view with his development.

Should be really cheap?

hopefully keeps DPP, otherwise will be hard to justify as a pure mid
will depend on price for me, not going to pick him if he's still that 230k mark

probably won't be my first pick either, will be considering all options

This kid is going to be a star, not sure if he'll have a massive impact straight away, but if he's named round one I'd pick him. Won't be my first picked, though  :P

I can't imagine he would be a mid only. He's extremely likely to play in Collingwoods backline.

Ah the big Shag ;D  Well unfortunately the Shag hasn't played because he would have been great for the Pies this year, the problem is he is still likely to play at least a couple of games making him over-priced for next season :'(

But I can't wait to see the big Shag play his first game in the AFL 8)  (Long time Glenelg supporter)

I always start with my backline so it'll be someone from down there. dunno who though it depends on who keeps/gets DPP

I doubt he will debut this season tbh, sounds like Bucks has all but confirmed this as well anyway. Has only played a half of footy in the past 12 months or so after all!

I reckon my locks for next year in each position are:

Mids: Swan, Rocky, Ablett and Mcrae
Fwds: Dusty, Parker, Jack
Def: Hanley, Mitchell

Just have a feeling there won't be many breakout seasons next year and the guys who broke out this year will be the conistent guys in our teams for years to come, especially th elikes of Mcrae and Parker.
