Hi guys, been scratching my head about what to do with my second trade this split round.  I currently have 5 trades left with $337k left in the bank.  I've been gearing my team towards having one decent cover in all positions and whilst my overall ranking is a bit below par (4165) I would still like to finish the year strongly.   Got the double chance sewn up in both of my leagues, so not necessarily requiring wins in the last one and a half rounds before finals.  My current line-up looks like:

D: McVeigh, Simpson, Duffield,Bichall, Hanley, Hurn / Grimes, Bews
M:  Pendlebury, Kennedy, Selwood, Liberatore, Beams, Cotchin, Murphy, Swan / Taylor, O'Brien
R: Jacobs, Sandilands / Brown, King
F: Dangerfield, Martin, Franklin, Gunston,Pavlich, Roughead / S.Martin, Honeychurch

Obviously Swan is the major worry there, so I've worked out three options that I cannot split as to their merits

Option 1
Trade Swan for Smitch, leaving me approx 350k to trade ZOB to a 500k midfielder next week (possibly a Treloar/Boyd), then moving Mitchell to defence with Hurn/Birchall D7 loophole options and Grimes M9 (3 trades for finals)

Option 2
Same first trade, but double trading next week with Taylor out for Alex Spina (non-playing M/F) giving me enough cash to turn ZOB into any premium mid (Rocky/Fyfe) (2 trades for finals)

Option 3
Trade Swan for Rockliff leaving the same (weaker) cover as I have now.  (4 trades for finals)

As you can see each option has its positives and negatives, with option 2 the better for onfield and coverage, but very low trades for finals, whilst option 3 has positive onfield and trades, but very weak cover (and little loophole options)  Option 1 has a bit of each, but Boyd/Treloar aren't as appealing as Rockliff/Fyfe.

This is the first time I've asked for trade assistance as I really do not know which way to go, so any advice/opinions will be gladly accepted!

You still have bloody good cover with option 3 in comparison to most I would say. Definitely option 3.

Option 3 by a mile

ScottieD

Your cover is good - Grimes, Taylor, S.Martin.  Option 3 for sure get rocky in now he's about to have a blinder.

Don't see how you say option 3 has very little loophole options - Taylor, Homeychurch and Brown all with DPP.

Soo definitely Option 3

Cheers guys, I really appreciate the feedback, certainly make sense.  I think I just got caught up in trying to get Sam Mitchell into my team, and was trying to justify his inclusion when it probably didn't suit this week.  Option 3 it is :)
