do we have to do delistings before the recycled draft or is after ok?
Fairly sure after is okay, because once you list guys as delistings you can't trade them as sweeteners or whatever I think.

Ringo

Players need to be de-listed by friday 5th September.  Reason being need to sort out Rookie Draft order before treading starts as rookie Draft picks will be valuable.

Rusty00

Tom Young
Kyle Hardingham
Zac Webster

Probably more to come.

Hey Ringo, just to clarify does this mean we cannot de-list any additional players after 5th September?

kilbluff1985

on top of what rusty asked what if we want to do like 3 for 1 trades to make more room on our lists for rookie picks is it ok as long as trade done before rookie draft?

Alright here's our long list of delistments.

Marty Clarke
Ben Rutten
Lewis Roberts-Thompson
Alex Greenwood
Angus Graham
Beau Maister
Malcolm Karpany
Luke Reynolds

*Please note that although Mitch Clark has retired we have decided NOT to delist him. We would like to put him on our rookie list next season in the hope that he returns to AFL in the future.

To answer some queries -
Any players that you do not delist and remain on an AFL list will remain on your lists following the Sept 5th Deadline.  Should any players however be delisted by clubs and not on an AFL Club you can delist them after the Sept 5th deadline and receive an additional supplementary pick in the Rookie Draft.

You can still 3 for one trades in the trade period and at conclusion of trade period draft order may be adjusted. It is a risk that you take however that you will do a 3 for one trade.  Lists will be capped at 45 players.

Another question for you Ringo about setting the rookie draft order now.

If you're going to set the draft order now instead of before trades I'm assuming you will do it based on how many players everyone has on their list following delistments right?

So if a team only has 6 free spots (4 Nat picks) then they will only get 2 rookie picks?

But, then if during the trade period we do the 3 for 1 trades and need extra picks does that mean the new 2 rookie picks they need get added to the end of the draft order instead of (using us as an example) at where their third and fourth round rookie picks would have been originally?

Or is there automatically four rounds of picks and the the extras get added?

I really think finalising the rookie draft list at the end of the uneven trade period is the only way to do it.

Ringo

Can understand Memph but just think that people need to know what rookie picks they are receiving in the trade period.

Officially atm there are 4 National Draft Picks plus the three bonus picks and 3 Rookie picks.

So basically supplementary rounds will be based on numbers required to bring lists to 45 players. Final order after the three rounds will be finalised at end of trade period so anyone trading Rookie picks after round 3 need to be aware pick may move.

Also if a coach does not wish to take all four national draft picks which is their option they need to advise.

Hope that makes sense but just trying to get some sort of rookie order inplace to give an idea where late picks will sit.

JBs-Hawks

Why dont you just make it everyone gets 3 rookie picks to trade. If they dont need those rookie picks come draft time then they just pass and if they need more then they just goto the end of the draft.

Wow LF that is a lot of dead wood you been carrying!!

Yep and now it can go away far far away haha
Still might have Sewell to add to it as well
just light a match and step back, no need for any stimulants

Ringo

Fair point JB but what if I have 5 rookie picks that I now off and want to trade my rookie pick 5.  Just using that as an example so if I was trading with someone they would want an idea where Rookie 5 sits.

Happy to limit to trade of rookie picks to first 3 rounds if that is what coaches wish.
