You obviously have not known anyone with cancer for your comment about being in remission doesn`t necessarily mean they are getting better at all.

My father did have cancer, so yes I do understand what it's like - I should've been more specific as I was saying it in generalistic terms.

I am angry mate, but when his management says he's seeing his sick father instead of attending the B&F night and is then located in a local pub sinking schooners, surely that raises your suspicion? Has he even seen his dad?

And Grazz, this is two different scenarios altogether. Danger hasn't been offered a contract and told you he's left.. And until that time I will remain firm that it's any team looking around and raising the question, as you would with any gun of the competition.

I agree with Vin here - although it is Brisbane's responsibility to offer a fair deal for Beams.

And it should also be Collingwood's responsibility as well to respect Beams' decision to go back to see his father... Takes 2 to tango... Not all Brisbane's fault

Vinny

I agree, not attending the BNF is suspicious but if something is going on there, it's likely to be he is not happy with how the club are treating him or something along those lines or perhaps he is making a statement that he wants to move for sure.

But in saying that there is no way he used his fathers illness and an excuse to get out of the club. Still reckon you are talking out of anger and not making much sense man.

It's pretty much the same scenario not in terms of specifics of course but how you explained the poaching. Danger has been removed from the table so if Collingwood go after him now, it's poaching.

I thought I implied this when I said I agreed with Vin? I probably should have quoted it...

Sorry man. All good :P

I wouldn't want to go to a club BnF if they didn't respect my decisions to move back home...

Footy and the emotions it conjures up especially this time of year are very real and at times painful. Our respective teams mean a great deal to us. Getting angry with each other only inflames the emotions, there's no point. Whatever will be will be and nobody here did it. Be respectful of each other and understand some are hurting more than others.

And this has gone on since Jesus played fullback for Bethlehem mate. It's still outside of the rules to be entertaining a contracted player until said player states he wants to leave his club but it goes on all the time mate. Do i like it not really but allowing myself to get upset or angry about it wont change jack. If Danger wants to go he'll go and the club will move on just as the Pies will without Beams. Your opinion of Beams is quiet low if you think he would use his fathers illness as an excuse to void his contract, he wants to be able to spend more time with his Dad he didnt say he wanted to be by his side 24/7 surely he can have a night out with mates and have a beer, the last week ten days would of been pretty draining on him.

So we hear the rumour of Beams to Brisbane all year right, with financials included, and then as soon as the year ends Beams suddenly states it's all too much and the decision to leave is either Brisbane or bust..

They had time to offer him a deal but seem very reluctant to talk to us.. Very prepared on the Beams front but seem unorganised in talking with us about arrangements and it seems to conclude that they thought we'd be boxed in from the get go and take #4 with us and they'd run with us allowing for unders..

It all seems a farcical to me really.. I am angry, but also disappointed in many aspects.

Yes his father is a very big favour, but it could also be a very ostensible reason to all of a sudden leave Collingwood.

Still very undecided on this topic. I do respect everything you guys are saying and I have come across as angry so I will apologise.

Just want everything to move on and for us to be compensated rightly so!

It's a showerty time of year. Im pissed about alot of stuff at my club and going on outside it with Danger and alike. I reckon if i started id draw a bit of flack for certain things id say maybe, maybe not but im not going there haha. This to shall pass and the sun will continue to rise and after enough sunrises maybe my club will be what i want it to be.

_wato

Yeah you are right mate, I regret saying some of the things I've said as some on here may think I'm a total tool but I'm not, I was only expressing my opinion and others have rightly so, albeit very differently to mine.. Hahaha

Haha probably a smart move mate! And I can agree with that last comment 100%. Always light at the end of the tunnel.

Drafting in the past went through a stage where we targeted mature players to discover a premiership, but it's still been pretty good if you ask me.. These are picks including rookie elevations, rookie picks and picks used to draft mature players in the last 6 years (all in the National and Rookie Drafts)

2013- Scharenberg, Freeman, Langdon, Marsh, Dwyer, Oxley
2012- Grundy, Kennedy, Broomhead, Ramsey
2011- Paine, Gault, Witts, Williams, Mooney, Hartley
2010- Fasolo, Seedsman, Blair, Keefe
2009- Sinclair, J Thomas, Ball
2008- Macaffer, Sidebottom, Beams

Very good core in that group, and definitely a squad full of players that can help us on our progression forward (minus a few including Ball and Beams etc.)

The Pies also picked up pre-listed/pre-nominated players Krakouer and Ceglar for their 1st rounder via GC in 2010 and Jamie Elliott, Marty Clarke for their first rounder and Yagmoor via GWS in 2011, so they kind of count as draft picks.

Your haul isn't that great. GWS, GC and WB showers all over it and they'll be the teams you're competing against when these guys start to peak.

Stuff happens mate, like i said its because it means so much to us otherwise why would we get into like we do sometimes on these pages, its because we care about it not because we want to be seen in a bad light.

GWS and GC showers all over us as they had the first round of selections to choose from basically and over two years so there's no comparison. WB recruiting through the draft was deplorable in 08 and 09 in comparison, you picked up Wallis, Libba and Dahl in 2010, nobody to cry about in 2011 (Smith, Talia, Dickson), got Stringer, Macrae, Hrovat and Hunter in 2012 and Bontompelli in 2013 with your other rookies untried. (Honeychurch 3 games, Fuller).

We have two first round players untried from last year (Scharenberg, Freeman) and Marsh hasn't played, Grundy, Kennedy, Broomhead, Gault, Witts, Williams, Paine, Seedsman, Blair, Keefe, J Thomas, Sidey and Maccaffer all in that time frame outweigh yours if I'm completely honest and unbiased.

To add into this discussion our top few players are much better than yours also (Pendles, Sidey,Reid, Cloke) and your best (Cooney, Boyd, Murph etc excluding Libba are on their way out in a few years.. You've lost Higgins, Tutt, Jones also and your KPP players look a longgggg way off being any good (Mids are fantastic).

I look forward to us being third, you being fourth and GWS and GC smashing us all.

GC only have a couple of key forwards on us. If we can trade for Melb's pick 2 and grab McCartin like we're trying to then we'll match them everywhere once GAJ departs.

You forgot Campbell and Jong in 2011. You forgot Johannisen in 2010.

I like what I've seen from Bont a whole lot more than what I've seen from Scharenberg. Macrae is showerting all over every 2nd year player in the world. Stringer's 2nd half of the year was special. Dahlhaus is already A-grade. Libba is Libba. These guys are the creme of the crop. Collingwood have two guns in Sidey and Beams (about to leave) and then the rest are either injured, unproven or average-to-good players.
