Don't get drafting and recruiting confused shaker. I think our drafting has been great and we are known to draft well. The recruiting players from other clubs has been very poor lately and it has hurt us.
I would like to get more picks and let our recruiters pick up the best rookies and train them from the ground up, we do well in that way. I think karnezis will come good though, everyone else has kinda been a fail
Yeah, it's a credit to Derek Hine (pretty sure he's the wizard) that Collingwood has drafted so bloody well year after year.

Fair enough Spite my bad but Ball is on the list

_wato

Ball is in the list as we picked him up with our #30 pick in the 09' national draft.

Don't believe me? Have a look, however it doesn't include our 2013 picks.

It's true.  Saints got rid of him for someone to pick him up in the national draft for free...

Well done wato so Ball required you to use a draft pick where the others were done in trade week , said you would shoot me down in flames  :P

Cheers Spite , everything seems to be happening at the Pies ATM not much at the Tiges which is probably good , the most interesting thing going is Beams and what is going to unfold my bet is the Pies will take pick 4 or 5 and a lesser player than they would like what do you think ?

_wato

I honestly believe we won't take the Pick #4 and a lesser player, we don't want blokes hogging our list.. Considering we also have a whole lot of same like for like players it just won't happen.

Have heard Crows have all but certainly told us Danger is off limits but there were quite big rumours going around that he was spotted at the Westpac Centre with BenKen today, so hopefully it's true and we're assessing the option of bringing him across.

We really need to stick strong with this and get the best we can get - Mayes and #4 is what I'd like as I cannot see Aish coming to Melbourne (could be in SA in 12 months, hasn't signed a contract yet). If not Mayes, then Rich/Zorko would be fine.

Stuff Brisbane - and I say that because Brisbane had a perfectly constructed plan to get Beams in motion months ago and even before he required a trade back to QLD, dangling in front of Beams a huge sum of money to come across and all Beams needed to do was find a viable excuse to leave.. They then planned to poach Beams from us with them paying way unders for him even though they appear to be willing to make Beams their most highly paid midfielder, and are looking to make him a marquee signing - Brisbane know that Beams has identified them as his new home and the ball is now in their court - Brisbane and their management will realise this and the thought of us exercising Beams for longer is quite a viable thing to occur, and in my mind Brisbane will come crawling by Friday to exercise the deal that we want.

Remember what Brisbane has done is extremely dangerous - poaching contracted players is unheard of and in this type of predicament.. Beams dad is in remission and is therefore getting better but that gives no valid reason as to why he would not adventure his interest to GC or other teams? Why is it only Brisbane? If this pulls through you have to understand that the whole concept of FA changes and everyone has just become a FA - no more loyalty to players or teams, every man for themselves and it will make the AFL very apprehensive about future signings.

Brisbane can play hard ball but they will get their revenge - Every Victorian on your list just became a free agent as far as we are concerned - Contracted or not and whenever we choose to put into action.

Watch this space, this hasn't finished yet.

Vinny

He never singled out Brisbane or asked to move to Brisbane. Suns were definitely a chance to get him but they don't have cap space so Brisbane are the only team in the race now.

Beams did single out Brisbane mate although it never came out until recently - the only people who ever identified other clubs such as GC was Collingwood in an attempt to get the best compensation for Beams.

This has been a process that has been underway for awhile mate, and Beams has found the perfect excuse to leave - It's a mastermind, that only a few could ever see being conjured,

LF

You obviously have not known anyone with cancer for your comment about being in remission doesn`t necessarily mean they are getting better at all.

Perfect excuse? Mastermind?

I disagree. His dad has cancer. Collingwood cannot keep back for a year if he wants to see his sick father. No one should be able to take that away from him. I don't see how this is some sort of evil plan of Brisbanes. Collingwood can f off if they wanna block a guy off from seeing his dad.

I know it sucks but most of what you are saying sounds like it's due to anger.

Grazz

So is this right Brisbane is trying to poach Beams as Collingwood are trying to poach Danger.

Big Mac

I agree with Vin here - although it is Brisbane's responsibility to offer a fair deal for Beams.
