Apparently Martin doesn't like all the requirements and what it takes to play AFL, and would prefer to work as a Plumber and just enjoy the game with Noble Park, with much less requirements

Well this is at least what they're saying

elephants

I honestly don't have a problem with that. ^

ossie85

Geez guys you'll be accusing Bucks of leading ISIS next

The guy obviously didn't want to be an AFL player, that's fine, neither do I

Saw this on fb about Martin:

Plumber? If he wanted to work with crap all day he should have just stayed at collingwood haha :D

Strange that Martin could not even get a look in with all the Dramas at the Pies 27 possie average and 28 goals in 15 games in the VFL  :o , Beams snubbing the Copeland and other club functions when he has said it's his father's health as to why he wants out , me thinks there is more going on than we are being told  ::)

Wasn't strange kmart didn't get a look in.
He got upgraded to senior list (he was a rookie) before round 18, then he played round 18 and 19 and I went to the games and he was actually very poor, especially with his disposal. So he blew it. Then after that, only a handful of games remaining and he couldn't, nor could karnezis, crack it back into the side. We actually have decent mis depth, just not in many other places.

Beams snubbing b and f and lying about it is very very strange. Something more to the story 100%. As he's good mates with Jono O'rourke, I fear by losing Beams, we also lost all chances to snare Jono.

Seems to me the Pies have got to many of Martin type and size players but even saying that 3 B+F still could not get a look in Blair and Elliot had average years especially Blair he needed to be given a chance but was not , think that is Buckley just being Buckley ?

I feel the same way about Blair. Nothing was done to change his role or try get him more into the game. He had an average year at best, probably a poor year. Thought Elliot had a good year though, missed many games but was our bright light up front at most parts of the year.
We have so so many Martin type players on our list. JT, Adams and Bennedy all play a similar role

Just had a mate and his family down on holiday very one eyed Pie supporter his opinion was that Buckley as a player and Captain was a perfectionist everything had to be 100% they lost some players then ( Mal Michael ) he thinks that Buckley has now taken that idea into coaching and he is finding some players not going along with it interesting coming from a Pie supporter but does explain the exodus of players in the last couple of years and Martin not getting a look in ?

Spite

Yes, Buckley is a perfectionist, it's well known. He plans meticulously and people not going along with this values may get cut (see Shaw, dids etc)
I think we will be fine in the long run, everyone has a rebuilding period and I think the confusion is coming because we were thrown into a rebuild, it wasn't planned which has caused panic.

Can't cut bucks now, we must be in it for the long haul and see out his plan of action. If anyone was to go, as much as I love Eddie, we may need a fresh face, perhaps as a distraction a little through next year as I'm expecting our year to be messy. (Maybe 4th last or so, in that band)

Yeah Bucks is there he may need to relax his thirst for perfection for a more balanced outlook and think him and Eddie will both go in a couple of years if things go bad but there drafting in the last couple of years has been poor as well , they need to get a key back somehow Reid and Brown are injury prone can't rely on them Adams is going to have stand up and give Pendles a hand and like the Tiges hit the draft and try and uncover a young gun or two

Drafting in the past went through a stage where we targeted mature players to discover a premiership, but it's still been pretty good if you ask me.. These are picks including rookie elevations, rookie picks and picks used to draft mature players in the last 6 years (all in the National and Rookie Drafts)

2013- Scharenberg, Freeman, Langdon, Marsh, Dwyer, Oxley
2012- Grundy, Kennedy, Broomhead, Ramsey
2011- Paine, Gault, Witts, Williams, Mooney, Hartley
2010- Fasolo, Seedsman, Blair, Keefe
2009- Sinclair, J Thomas, Ball
2008- Macaffer, Sidebottom, Beams

Very good core in that group, and definitely a squad full of players that can help us on our progression forward (minus a few including Ball and Beams etc.)

You will probably shoot me down in flames but why aren't White , Lynch , Hudson and Karnezis on those lists ?

Don't get drafting and recruiting confused shaker. I think our drafting has been great and we are known to draft well. The recruiting players from other clubs has been very poor lately and it has hurt us.
I would like to get more picks and let our recruiters pick up the best rookies and train them from the ground up, we do well in that way. I think karnezis will come good though, everyone else has kinda been a fail
