'A few years pain' he says as his team bottoms out while still almost making finals  ;)

Pain as in mediocre performances like the ones we've seen in the last few weeks.. You know how quick to blame 99% of Collingwood fans are! Hahaha and also mate, you've got nothing to worry about with that star studded team you have, so don't come on here starting me ;)

Big Mac, we have made the finals 8 years in a row. Missing finals is practically bottoming out for us. With all the cash and equipment/staff we have, we will attract free agents when they appear too. As with all powerhouse clubs associated with each sport, if we ever ever end up near the bottom of the ladder I will be extremely surprised.

JT, frost, Keefe, Marley, Adams and fasolo are primed to make the next step up next season. I don't think or expect us to drop much below 10th, even at our very worst. We may have another average season next year (frustrating the supporters) but I expect us to be back playing well inside the top 8 relatively soon.

For the record if we lose to port this week then it looms likely we will finish 9th. 8th if we can beat port etc (my opinion but mathematically likely)

Oi, don't try to steal 9th from Richmond okay.  :(

Big Mac

That was my whole point Spite. Your team is bottoming out, and they're still miles ahead of anywhere Melbourne's ever been (since i've been old enough to follow them properly). It was just a tongue in cheek comment mentioning how good it would be to bottom out and still hang around the top 8-10. The development of a club like yours is definitely not something I would derive 'pain' from as Wato put it.

Fair enough BM. :)
It is very unpleasant though and to most supporters, after being at the top for so long, even tenth still hurts a lot. Most of us probably don't remember real pain (I guess when we finished second last we got pendles and daisy so that worked out well) because we just don't reach those lows.
Then again, coming near the bottom or winning 1 grand final from 5 attempts (in my lifetime), I'm not sure what hurts more to other people but I still feel very upset about the 2011 season even now.

A lady at work was a Tigers supporter but then jumped ship to Collingwood for pretty much this reason a while back.

Clint Young is my most hated player at pies now. Useless
I was actually pretty disappointed at the time when he left the Hawks.

Now, not so much :P

Just putting it out there BUT am I the only one thinking Reid should be used as trade bait?
When on the park is a good player, but the Reid brothers are made of Playdough and are always injured.  I would be moving him on for someone that is durable and that we can get game time out of........

I will say it again "Reid is made of Playdough", move him on.  Doesnt matter how good he is if he never lasts a game!!!

Lumumba and Swanny definitely won't be traded.
hahaha yeah no one wants this attention seeker in their team. As for Swan, he won a Brownlow no more than 4 years ago. I've got to agree

Honestly I have no idea what we are doing anymore. Rumours going around saying that we will trade for and sign Liam Sumner from GWS. Another short midfielder (shorter than 180cm)

Why in this day and age of large midfielders, with most teams opting for mids closer to 190cms, are we recruiting short and shorter mids? We are going to be running around with a midget brigade next year.

kilbluff1985

you getting worked up about a rumour mate  ;)

CrowsFan

Sumner is more of a small forward than a midfielder.

Pies have a billion of them too  :P

Nige

Derek Hine has made some good moves lately... but do the Pies really need Sumner?

T Dog

Broomhead looks likely. Possibly playing in the mids tonight. 184cm and seems well balanced.  Another "shorty" tho 8)

Yeah he looks very good. Ben Kennedy and him are similar I reckon.
