Fyfe has just increased in reliability I think. Surely Ross won't go on resting players now that top two is in very real danger?

It's the Brissy game in round 22 that's a worry I don't think Sandi will make the trip

Redbaron

Sandi is not too much of a worry. I think most have made contingency plans after sandi was rested today. But will Ross rest against the lions..they can not afford to drop another one.

kilbluff1985

Your answering yourself in the same sentance :o

AaronKirk

Freo now need to win every game to be in the top 4, let alone top 2.

I don't think they, or anyone else around the top 4 can afford to rest anyone.

jfitty

Sandilands is the only one you could argue needed a rest, don't think anyone else will be for the rest of the year.

kilbluff1985

Sandi got a minor injury last week cant remember what for but he came off and got looked at i think that's why he didn't play this week

JBs-Hawks

Even if sandi rests against the lions just means a big score for his trusty back up stef!

Ross might not be able to this year but Longmire or other coaches might , if any positions in the 8 are set before the completion of the home and away games they would be silly not to

Perthwildcat

Sandi will get two weeks off in a row, can't see him being rested for the rest of the season.

Today was a wake up call for Freo.

All depends on where they are sitting on the ladder I reckon.
If they are cemented in the 4 and can't go up or down they will probably rest a few.
It proved to work well last year so can't see why they wouldn't do it again

True Quinny
But last year they had to travel melbourne in the final game and have Geelong lose to Brisbane at skilled stadium.
This year their final game is in Perth and depending on the next few weeks top two could be on the line. I wonder if they would have rested  all those players last year if they were playing in Perth .
It seems unlikely that they will rest more players this year, but ultimately there is still one point of consideration...........the Ross Lion factor!

Your thinking of rnd 13 where brisbane won on the siren, geelong won by 1 point in rnd 23. :)

Ringo

JB has nailed what most SC are aware of with Sandy - Ruck emergency Stef Martin will score great. Can see them possibly resting Sandi due to the travel time to brisbane if they can not improve positions in the final 2 rounds.

Yes but they play Brisbane at the Gabba in the 2nd last round. Biggest road trip in the game and a. Good opportunity to rest a few if they are safe
