I wouldn't mind drafting Waylen, worth the risk imo.

On talent hes good but hes a little dog. Gives up paddling a board what if he went on kokoda with the hawks? Or any teams pre-season lol
Cant just stop cos your arms are tired

Haha yeah he'd need some serious mental coaching, could be anything if he gets himself right.

Be interesting to see if they pick a team they are more likely to play in (Melb/Saints) vs a team that is playing near the top but will be harder to break into.
Also if they pick a team outside their home state

I can see this going wrong for the rookie in so many ways

What do you mean?

1. Some have extremely poor attitude, doubt they'd make through half a season

2. No clubs even bother to nominate

3. They just go to a top team like Sydney/Hawks/Cats and play no games and get delisted immediately

Yeh fair enough. I think a couple of guys have shown enough though to the point that that won't happen imo.

Any of those scenarios happen they have still been given a chance they otherwise wouldnt have had and will still get paid.

+ all these boys gonna be getting big offers from country clubs and div 1 amateur sides

Yeh the Irish guy really should've gone before him - He obviously doesn't want to win. Did Vossy imply that Jackal is a one trick pony?

kilbluff1985

i don't think Jackal has skill to make it but neither does the IRISH guy

Sydney_Rox

I think that clubs would be more interested in a player like Podric than Jackal.

Age, size and average skills count against Jackal, while Podric has size and time on his hands. He will most likely get delisted next week (or the week after seeing the preview) but he was never going to win it.

I liked Jackal but age was never on his side, especially as a small midfielder :(. Think Voss just saw Jackal as a guy who goes hard after the ball every time, but makes bad decisions when he has it.

They're giving the projects plenty of time to prove themselves, probably why they stuck around for longer than they should have. Doubt Podraig will win it, but they are giving him a chance to perform well beyond where he should if compared to others skill-wise.

only just caught up on this last night. Thought the Jackal was on the outer after almost being put up the week before. Agree bad decisions and using his tank too early as well and not having any left to run out the game

Surely Yoey's back is an issue too? Not sure a club wants to take on a player like that with a serious long-term injury concern.

To be honest I don't think it's an issue at all and they have shown it on tv to put doubt that he will win...because at the moment he's miles ahead of anyone else 😜

I think Gossy has the best footy brain but he spends too much time kissing Voss's arse.

Needs to do more on the ground and stop doging like a Kardashian
