The 18 club recruiters have been told the winner of #TheRecruit will have the power to choose which club he plays for.

How does that work? Supposed to be a draft wasnt it? I got the impression it was going to end up like a father/son bidding thing, highest bidder wins?

Very interesting.

Wonder what happens if the nominated club don`t want the player.
Going to be interesting

From what I've read it goes like this. The clubs vote 3-2-1 on the winner. They declare the winner, then all clubs can say they either pass or want to draft him. Then the clubs pitch it to him to try and get him to pick their club. Then he decides where he wants to go

#80

Clubs will vote 3-2-1 in a secret ballot before the winner turns the tables in the AFL-sanctioned draft and The Recruits AFL Category B rookie contract wont cost his team a draft pick.

That is the kicker!!

Saints or Bulldogs would love to draft Yoey i think

SydneyRox

Be interesting to see if they pick a team they are more likely to play in (Melb/Saints) vs a team that is playing near the top but will be harder to break into.

elephants

I wouldn't mind drafting Waylen, worth the risk imo.

Capper

so does this mean that the team will be able to have one extra player on their list? no doubt that the recruit will be a rookie as well

They will be a B-list rookie and you can have 3 of them on top of the normal 6 rookies so like the internationals and some others they dont count toward the overall salary cap I think?

yeah they go on the cat b rookie list it's like teams signing an international prospect

so not on the teams list of 45

Mailman the 2nd

I can see this going wrong for the rookie in so many ways
