I typed up the longest post in the history of FF.... but, condensed it down to the below question.

    I have $31k.

Which trade to get Rockliff in?
-Beams, -Dal Santo, +Rockliff, +Logan (D6) -----< Shenton & XELllis as my perma-emergency.
-Swan, -Dal Santo, +Rockliff, +Brodie Martin (D6)  ----< Shenton & XELllis as my perma-emergency.
-Beams, -Shenton(M9), +Rockliff, +Aiden Riley (D7) ----< Honeychurch & XEllis as my perma-emergency
-Hanley, -XEllis (D7), +Rockliff, +McStay (D7)
Suckling, -XEllis (D7), +Rockliff, +$140k Defender ----< Means that $140k defender, who didn't play this week and Shenton as my perma-emergency (DEF&MID respectively).

I actually don't like any of them, but can't think of a good downgrade for:
Shenton or XEllis.

Or a midpricer that I want to trade in and play whilst trading out two $500k premos.[/list]

Having trouble copying the post in from Word, but here is the start of it incase it helps someone to see my thought process.

Time for Rockliff to come in.

Can go:
-Suckling (D6), move D.Swallow back to DEF, +Rockliff.
-XEllis (D7), +$140k defender......

But, no-one under $160k played this week:@.

Fine.
-Hanley(D3), Move D.Swallow back to DEF, +Rockliff.
-XEllis, +$227k defender.... which best choice is McStay @ $194k, meaning $33k over for next week.

My bench is thus J.Kelly (never played a game) and McStay. I'd also be trading out the 8th highest averaging defender.

Doesn't work.

Let's look at the midfield down/up route then.
Potential chopping block:
Beams, $505k.
Dal Santo (9th highest DEF, $451k)
Swan $483k
Hanley $477k, 8th highest DEF
I have $31k.

Safe:
Heppel, Fyfe, Consistent Pendles, Jelwood (120), Stevie J (C) are all safe.
Swallow, McVeigh Bartel (Top 4 DEF, they stay)
Martin, Boomer, Jack, Parker, Danger ---> 4 of the top 5 Fwds (and S.Martin is R2)

My mid bench is Shenton & Honeychurch, obv. Shenton would get the chop = $273k.
$273k + $31k = $304k
Rockliff = $631k
I need to find $327k with a second trade.

Jesse Lonergan, $218k = $545k midfielder needs to go.... This is no-one on the chopping block.
Aiden Riley, $161k = $488k midfielder needs to go. This is only Beams.

Alternatively, can look at trading out two premos, and trading in a mid-pricer and Rockliff.

I do not understand this without straining my brain. Perhaps it is because I have just finished a long shift at work. Can you just post your team and maybe we can work it out easier??

:)

I think I need to go:
-Swan + Rockliff
-XEllis (D7) + McStay (D7)

Bartel, Hanley, McVeigh, Dal Santo, SImpson, Suckling (XEllis, J.Kelly)
Pendles, Heppel, Fyfe, Beams, Stevie J, Swan, Jelwood, D.Swallow (Shenton, Honeychurch)
Sandilands, S.Martin (Ben Brown, Dan Currie)
D.Martin, Boomer Harvey, K.Jack, Parker, Franklin, Dangerfield (Charlie Cameron, Bock).

But this means my emergnecies are:
McStay, Shenton, Brown, Charlie Cameron.

you will need to do something else unless you are happy playing Martin and Brown as your rucks.

Sandi is out.

That's farkked.

Since Brown/Currie play the first Friday night if named, that does make it a touch easier at least.

Trade Sandilands if neither playing, keep Sandilands if one of them is. Esp. with two weeks off, you'd expect Sandilands to only miss one round.

Who the hell does Sandilands turn into though? Sauce Jacobs is the only one I can see... but obviously means I cannot possibly get Rockliff, who should get 130+ this week, in.

Jacobs - last 3 99, last 5 102, average 97
Mumford - last 3 81, Last 5 93, average 96.

My advice... if you're going to bring in Rockliff, you shouldn't have to sacrifice another premium player. Maybe dual downgrades are the way to go this week (if you're that determined to trade him in) & a cash cow/stepping stone -> Rocky next week..

Want Rockliff as Captain this week.

More importantly, I have Swan who is out for four weeks... so he needs to be "sacraficed" for a premo (might as well by Rocky).

How much have you got in the bank??
Have you got enough cash to go Rocky and Minson??

$31k cash

Swan to Rockliff is an absolute no brainer now Swan is out, and I don't have Rockliff. That's locked in. Any other trade (except potentially JPK) is stupid.

I need to find $117k in my second trade.

I can do this by -Sandilands and have $319k to buy a R2. The highest averaging ruckman cheaper than that that has played at least 2 games is Pyke, who is averaging 63. This means I cannot downgrade Sandilands this week. Ben Brown is named so Sandilands must stay in my team another week. At least Carlton's big men are shower.

Option 1:
XEllis D7 to Mcstay D7

Option 2:
Shenton (not named, coming off 21) to Newton (only played 2 games ever, didn't play last week, named on the interchange with 3 to be omitted)

Option 3:
Hanley to Hooker.

Has to be option 1 or 3. Option 1 gives me more points this week, so I think I have to do it short-term instead of long-term since there are only 3 weeks left.
