I just think it's arrogance and disrespect to the rest of the comp, when a few clubs decide they wont have a clash strip. People can have all the answers they want, but the home team deserves to wear their strip. The AFL cave in to Eddie, ( because their a gutless organisation ) and a few other clubs hide under his umbrella. Pathetic
It was the AFL's decision not Richmond's.
I think you guys should be wearing your home strip, but who cares it means nothing.

Understand on both your points JROO, but what choice have the AFL got, if you guys don't have a away strip. You can say sour grapes, but if the shoe was on the other foot mate, you wouldn't be happy

You keep saying we don't have an away strip Dudge.. We do have one.
We have worn it against you in previous away games

Well why in the ..... aren't you wearing it. Ok I won't blame the Tigers, but what's going on?  Would ours and your away strip clash? Someone just explain to me why the home team that finished 5th , needs to wear a alternative strip?

I Know, it's blizzare and like I said, we have worn it every away game against you guys so I'm not sure why it's all of a sudden not good enough.
Not to mention Port are now wearing the prison bars which is just as much of a clash as their usual home jumper would be anyway  :o

Fair enough Quinny88, not Richmonds fault, but sunk a few ales and as the missus tells me all the time " just shut up - no one cares anyway "

Do not want to inflame what has been said but the AFL made the ruling

"A SEETHING Port Adelaide has slammed an AFL decision forcing the club to wear its white clash strip in Sunday's elimination final against Richmond after it was deemed the Tigers don't have a viable alternative jumper."

Surely the goodness the AFL must rule on clubs clash jumpers and make sure there is no clash but that is probably too much to ask given that the Pies do not have one.

A very strange situation, i was stunned tbh when i heard the AFL had told Port it had to wear its away strip. Im a Crows supporter and if that happened to us id be filthy to say the least. My first thought was why the hell should they it's their home game it's up to Richmond to get a decent clash jumper for away games with Port. Watching talking footy tonight i saw Brendon Gales interview and he expressed that they have used their current clash jumper against Port since 2010 i think he said without any issues from the AFL.

Okay that said whats the problem i dont get it, obviously the AFL have an issue now with the two jumpers. Not sure why they bring it up now, why wasn't something said ages ago if there was an issue for the AFL. Why they go to Port and say you change is wrong the phone call should of gone to the Tigers and they should of been told find a better clash jumper please we are not happy with the current one, in all honesty thats the fairest thing to do theres no way Port should have to do anything at all it's their home game for crying out loud.

In no way am i having a dig at the Richmond footy club here, they didnt know there was an issue till today, for 4 years its been good enough but now its not. The AFL are at fault here and i really think thats where Port people should be venting their anger, directly at the AFL and as i said the phone call to Port to change strips should never of happened it should of gone to Richmond and become their problem not Ports as Richmond are the away team, fairs fair.

If you check out photos from previous games between the 2 teams in SA when Richmond wore their current clash guernsey there doesn't appear to be much of a clash.

Baffling decision by the AFL ???

Karma for what? All he did was celebrate a late game goal. It's Boak that may regret what he said and have to eat his words haha

The Chaplin issue doesn't relate to that match, it relates to what he said when he left Port.

He's played against them twice since he left.
From memory the email said something along the lines of him wanting certain players to put their differences aside (obviously issues between some players)
Ironic thing is that Boak said "how's their season going" and it could be that very team that knocks them out of the finals :P

Stuff it, I'm putting my neck on the line!! :P

LOL!! The traditional prison bar Guernsey and a pi$$ed off crowd is the last thing Richmond wanted...
And if they didn't allow the 'NEVER TEAR US APART' song, the crowd would have spontaneously sung it anyway....

Power will smash Richmond and end their lucky win streak!!

Bye Bye Richmond :'(

Don't Let The Door Hit You Where The Good Lord Split Ya!! ;D

I just hope they don't lose, they might have to unroll the tarps again next year when their supporters stop going again.

I love that people can blame Richmond for Port not getting to wear their home jumper when it was purely an AFL decision and our own CEO said he would have been happy for us to wear our clash strip  ;D
