A real headache RD I would be leaning to trading Gaz for a gun your mids are quite strong maybe Sloane or even Jack who is cheap free up some cash and Hibberd to Hanley or Bartel that will save a trade give cover in the mids and forwards no doughnuts and you just have to pray with your rucks  ;)

I think I am going to pass on SMitch for the meantime

Before his injury he only had 1 good score for the year, and is going to be much cheaper next week too. I'd rather pass and see how he goes tonight (Hopefully he doesn't huge!)

Now that I've made that decision, I need to decide on what to do

I am trading Ablett to Priddis. Going for the POD option

In regards to my def and current donut, I can trade Hibberd to Hanley/Bartel/Malceski, or I can trade Bews to Talia or McStay

I'm leaning towards Bews to Talia, because it gives me D7 cover for the rest of the season, and I think Hibberd will be back next week and fine, and I can actually use him for loophole this week which could be a big plus, because all my other options play early so I would have to go with Danger VC, but with Hibberd in my team I can now go Stevie J or Libba and that could be the difference

Process of elimination is how I like to figure all this out :)

Do I spend the 120k to get Talia and his JS, or do I make 30k and get McStay, who has questionable JS?

I could actually do Battersby to McStay, giving me Bews and McStay as cover, or should I just spend the cash and get Talia?

Reckon you can do much better than Talia, he's prone to some shockers, 6 scores under 50 (including 25, 30 & 35). You also have Battersby at D8, that effectively rules out any loophole options. I'd personally go with Henderson, played really well last week and has 4 Friday night games & an early Saturday game. His BE is -1 so could even be upgraded if you are lucky with trades. For an extra 34k he's worth it.

I can afford Talia or Brodie Martin

Just short on affording Henderson, but besides last week his scoring is just as average as Talia's so although you raise excellent points about Friday night loopholing, I cant afford him anyway.

McStay, Talia and Martin are my options

Priddis vs Sloane = nil all draw, Henderson and loophole vs Talia = potential big scores. I watched Henderson last week and he played his best game for the year, reckon he could be on the cusp of some significant form. Both he and Casboult seem to have sorted out their roles much better, Henderson seems to be leaving the pack marking to his partner in crime and playing a bit further up the ground.

This decision should be about upside & Henderson has the potential to pump out big scores when on song, 9 tons last season indicates what he is capable of. With the luxury of a loophole he's a risk worth taking, you have 5 shots at getting a score out of him, I personally like those odds & see very little downside.

RaisyDaisy

Priddis vs Sloane as a nil all draw is right, and I might actually bank the 30k and grab Sloane instead, but looking over Henderson's scores I just don't see him being worth it

I hear what you are saying, but his scores are just not worth his price IMO, and the fact that I would need to field him this, and they are playing Sydney doesn't give me confidence

Henderson likes Sydney, 118 & 95 last season. As for Talia against Hawthorn? He'll be on Roughie, he's just as likely to produce one of his customary dud scores. But this week aside, having a loophole is definitely worth 35k, no two ways about it. It really doesn't matter if Henderson bombs, just don't field him. By bringing him in you at least have a chance of snaring a couple of hundreds. His negative BE is also an advantage, as is his DPP status. You could even switch him into the forward line if things get a bit messy.

For the past couple of weeks I've told myself to get Talia for D7, and 5 mins before lockout I picked Brodie Martin instead  :-\

My gut told me to go with Talia, and I just hope it this doesn't backfire against me

Lets go Martin!  :-[

Reckon you missed a golden opportunity with Henderson, so many reasons to pick him up. Five free hits in Supercoach is a rarity.

Time will tell, but his scoring this year doesn't suggest he is worth it imo

Thanks for all your input here Bully, really appreciate it :)

Sorry RD,

Just saw your thread (was stuck in traffic in Chadstone).

Mitchell is a must but not this week.

Hope you have made a good decision.

Best of luck.

PS I am catching you.  :P

No problem, best of luck.

Talia 47 versus Martin 88, think you made the right call on that count.

So far so good :)

Martin has been named on the wing recently, and since getting back into the team in rd9 has played every game, and coming off a 90 and two 70odd scores I thought he was more suited in the end

Ill take 88 everyday of the week :)

Bully

84 unscaled from Hendo, not bad in a thumping. Be interesting to see how he goes from here, 5 consecutive loopholes for those who have him.
