Who is going to average more for the rest of the season?

I brought in Ebert 3 weeks ago and he has been shocking. This trade would cost me only 7k! Ebert sliding and SJ about to rise again.

Worth it with only 4 trades left? Long term I think it is. Thoughts guys?

Ricochet

Think you have to keep Ebert with only 4 trades left mate. You'd hate to bring in SJ and he gets rested

Jimmykidd

I'm coming first in all leagues definitely playing finals. Also have Birchall, Enright and Pav to worry about. Gonna be a rough finals I think!

Ricochet

In that case I would definitely hold mate. Save your trades for finals

Jimmykidd

Probably the right call haha thanks man. Gonna grab NDS for GAJ and pray for no more injuries!

Ricochet

Tell me about it man. So much carnage and we're only Round 17

Jimmykidd

My rank has copped a hiding the past few weeks! blown out to 5,000 from 1,000! Had terrible luck with injuries this year. When the most reliable player ever goes down, there's cause for concern! good luck! :p

I'm personally rolling the dice with SJ, it's definitely a gamble but with Ablett out all players with high ceilings should be carefully considered as VC options. SJ plays Melbourne & GWS over the next fortnight, he will also get an enforced rest over the bye period. Last season he played every match leading in the finals (from round 18 to 23) so I suspect that may play out again this season, particularly given Geelong's top 4 prospects are hanging by a thread.

Definitely high risk, high reward but it's better to go out all guns blazing IMO.

Melbourne and GWS aren't a guarantee he will score large. Both teams love to tag.

They may love tagging but that doesn't necessarily make them good at it, Viney & Grimes aren't what I consider to be in the Crowley & Macaffer class, ditto GWS who don't have any first class stoppers. SJ has also been tackling like a man possessed, 20 tackles in the past fortnight indicate he's up for a scrap.

Exactly! Its so annoying people saying that players are gonna go huge due to playing a crap team. This is when the second tier players step up and kill it while the guns get a tag.

Horses for courses, some players excel against bottom teams and SJ is one of those. He's made mince meat out of Melbourne in the past and there's nothing to suggest he can't do it again. This year against teams out of the 8 he's scored 116 (Adel), 145 (Bris), 150 (West Coast), 135 (Rich), 84 (Carl), 114 (Ess) & 119 (Dogs). Average=123.
