i dunno everyone has said harbrow harbrow but o'brien has been promoted to the leadership group giving him more responsibility and hopefulle more dt points. harbrow took 17 kicks and 3 handballs just to get to 80???

Isn't more kicks and less handballs a good way to score, LE?

Some arguments I've seen say the extra responsibility causes or might cause problems for some players - eg. comments here on Joel MacDonald. Depends on how HO'B will handle the responsibility I guess.

What do they say at the Pies website?

I would love a player that I have chosen in DT to get that ratio of kicks to handalls

I did some math for fun on if the ratios of kicks/handballs were the other way round :)

17 kicks
3 handballs

17 * 3 =  51
+
3 * 2 =    6
+ (80 - 57) = 23 (other DT points scored)

               80


17 handballs
3 kicks

17 * 2 = 34
+
3 * 3 =   9
+
23 (other DT points scored)
----------------
             66

Both are 20 possession games.  Continue the same ratio of 85% kick / 15% handball up to a 30 possession game

4.5 handballs

But lets be fair and give the extra half a kick to the handballs ;)

25 * 3 = 75

*Keep in mind that I havent added any more DT points scored for any reason other than marks/kicks*

So in conclusion a 30 possession game from someone who has sore hands from punching leather all day is about the same as someone else who has a 20 possession game but lets his boots take all the punishment.

And I cant remember what the point is now, but it was fun....

okay i know kicks are worth more but i just dont think he will get 17 kicks a game on a regular basis!?!?
