Sometimes you look for an edge on your competition,
whether it's going with 2 midpricers over a gun and rook,
or purely because they've got an easy draw

Looking for defs? Probably bring in some players that play these sides

Looking for mids? You know it

Still in 2 minds about which ruckman to bring in?

Looking for that F6 that can give you a pinch win?

notes:
- positions are for RDT only, so no Higgins in the defs (not that he would've counted anyway)
- in case of a DPP being top scorer, the next best scorer decides what position he is (in a game... if Bartel outscores SJ, who outscores Mackie, then Bartel is listed as a def)
if the DPP also follows (think Smitchell then Hodge) then the highest scorer goes to the mids
- this is to the LEADING player only, if there are multiple options (see Parker/Franklin at Sydney) then I can't help you
- this is the season averages, not just over a recent period (i can't quite work out how to do that in excel)

Tonche

This is great work, thanks.

Awesome stuff, cheers PA.

I don't understand these figures represent.
Is it an avg of the highest scoring defender against them?

Teams that give up the most points to the respective position.

Yeah but accorinding to the table, North Melb give up an avg of 106 points to defenders? Doesn't sound right.
If the top scoring def against North avg 106 that's more realistic.

Yeah I think you're right, but shouldn't really change the fact either that those same team give up points to that position, maybe a few outliers.  DT talk page has a more in depth article each week regarding this.

it means that the top scoring def averages 106 against North
if you're bringing in premos, then they'll probably be top scorer, and then you can take near these averages

Thanks PA. That's what I thought. Just looking for clarification.

Tactical bump because obviously people's teams have been put into meltdown with the carnage this week (Ablett, Rocky, Goddard, Treloar amongst others)

NOTE that this is of last round, so there are some SLIGHT changes, but that's generally how it's been going this season
also note that it's to the LEADING scorer for each position (so the best FWD scorer in a single game, yes, even if he scored 50 the following week)
