What to do with the defence? aka. Top 6 Defenders

With most people having finished their MIDs, FWDs and RUCs, it seems that the defensive line has been left to last by a good chunk of teams. Solid upper-mid tier DTers like Suckling and Birchall have done a decent job (hence why this line has been left to last), but recent weeks have shown that they probably don't quite cut it as top 6 defender.

You'd imagine that a few select themselves (Bartel, Swallow & Simpson), and that a few others won't be far off the mark (Hodge, Hanley, McVeigh, Kelly, Hibberd). But you have to start looking at who has the softest draws going into AF finals. Nix Trader seems to believe that Adelaide, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood, GWS and Sydney are playing some of the sides that concede the most DT points in the last four weeks, so Matthew Jaensch, Brodie Smith and Nick Malceski must be considered. Carlton and Brisbane have the hardest last four weeks, so Hanley and Simpson might struggle for points.

Who do you guys want to have in your backline come season's end?

Personally, I've got K Simpson, D Swallow, M Hibberd, J McVeigh, M Suckling and M Jaensch (Langdon, Bews).
I'll be downgrading Langdon this week to free up some cash before he drops a big chunk of value next weekened following that concussion affected score last week (thankyou Mr Buckley for that late omission!), but I'll be looking at doing something with Suckling and Jaensch in the next couple of weeks. Bartel and Hanley will be my targets, but I'll be watching Mitchell's price as it drops upon his return.

Have:
Bartel
Simpson
McVeigh
Swallow
Hanley

Which are all locked in.

These are 5 of the top 6 (ignoring one gamer Logan), so that will do nicely.

I also have Suckling, which will probably become either Hodge or SMitchell.

My benches are generally weak and not producing much cash, so likely to wait for SMitchell to become cheap then go Suckling to SMitchell.

Upgrading Tex Walker is next on the to-do list, followed up going from premo mids like Fyfe/Swan to upltrapremos like Kennedy/Rockliff, followed by upgrading Suckling.

My top six in no order (except, Bartel #1):
Bartel, Simpson, Swallow, McVeigh, Hodge*, Hanley.

*Would choose one of Hodge or SMitchell, has to go to Hodge atm though.

Have:
Bartel (sideways for starter Smitchell)
Swallow (started)
Simpson (started)
McVeigh (started)
Hibberd (upgrade)
Suckling (started)

*The backs are usually the position I start the most premiums because they are more reliable scorers imo. The forwards/rucks is where I start the least.

My top 6:
Bartel
Swallow
Simpson
Hodge
Hanley (think he's on fire, always prone to the abysmal game but I think he'll continually improve)
Kelly (Although I started McVeigh, I doubt he'll be a top 6 back by season's end, although Kelly is inconsistent, a good final's run for Geelong could boost his average) If Kelly fails Eski or McVeigh (Eski is having a super season but the 150 has inflated his average. Nevertheless, he is usually neck & neck with McVeigh)

think the top 5 in the poll are a given: Bartel, Swallow, Hanley, Simpson, McVeigh

but then, it's really your choice for the 6th option, maybe even NDS if he gets def dpp (as is reported in the rd16 dpp thread)

Where does Dal Santo fit in if he gets DPP???
11th highest averaging.
Take out Logan
10th highest.

Norths run home is about average, play Adl. Geelong and Carlton who are all stingy... but play MElbourne, GWS, Saints. Also plays Hawks who can be good or bad for DT.

I intend on trading Suckling to him next week, but would still hope to move him upwards to a SMitchell.

If you're going purely based on the run home, then these are the current SEASON averages to the LEADING def for each team

notes:
based on RDT positions only, so JKelly not included
also used the highest def as a mid where possible
(depends on next best scorer, so an example with Hawthorn: Hodge 130, Lewis 120, Suckling 117 would see Hodge as a def, but if Suckling would have scored over 120, then Hodge would've been a mid)

in short, want to avoid defs that play Carlton like the plague, but load up on defs that play North/StKilda

Don't suppose you have that table for the Fwds by any chance?
