I'm still trying to work out why Sacremento didn't take Vonleh...

We have heaps of PF (Thompson/Landry/Williams/Acy/Evans) but we have a dire need for outside shooters.
Unfortunately none of those are any good though... They reached on Stauskas imo.

Who says Vonleh is better?  The above not being any good is why we are looking at J-Smoove at the #4.

Stauskas is the big ten player of the year and probably the best shooter in the draft (McDermott the only other guy who can make that claim).  Stauskas shot 44% from 3pt while average over 5 shots per game (over a 2 year period)

Are we done with this thread? Can we move back  :P

I was watching the draft but couldn't get onto FF. I don't see why just because we drafted Smart means we will trade Rondo. Smart can easily play backup to both PG and SG, and can learn from Rondo. If we keep Rondo, we can always hope Smart has a good season under him and then we can off-load him.

Don't know much about James Young, think I watched him play once and he was pretty good. We need a SF anyway.

Vonleh was a massive, massive steal. I also really like the look of Stauskas; I think he is a lot better than Dougie.

Not sure you can play Smart and Rondo together due to no perimeter shooting.. And who knows what happens with Avert Bradley in restricted free agency!

Keeping Rondo is a mistake if we can't surround him with some other all-star talent. He's hitting unrestricted free agency soon and I can't see why he's want to spend the latter years of his prime with 2 and 3rd year players :-X

James Young at 17 is better value than Smart at 6 IMO. Think those 2 will fit well with each other in the backcourt.

1) Not sure you can play Smart and Rondo together due to no perimeter shooting.. And who knows what happens with Avert Bradley in restricted free agency!

2) Keeping Rondo is a mistake if we can't surround him with some other all-star talent. He's hitting unrestricted free agency soon and I can't see why he's want to spend the latter years of his prime with 2 and 3rd year players :-X

3) James Young at 17 is better value than Smart at 6 IMO. Think those 2 will fit well with each other in the backcourt.
1) Smart being a backup point guard means he won't spend that much time with Rondo on the court... Smart isn't that bad from outside anyway.

2) Obviously but I still think there is a good chance Rondo will resign. We haven't had the chance yet to sign unrestricted FA yet, we just finished the draft  :P So it's kind of a different story.

3) I'm not really sure who else we should have taken. I was expecting Vonleh but we arlready have so many bigs, and I'm very happy with Smart.

I agree with valk - Kings have a lot of bigs already.

only question with Staukaus is what's going to happen to McElmore (sorry I don't know how to spell it correctly, but you know who I mean) ...

Smart won't be our backup PG next season, no way. He either starts at the point and Rondo gets traded or he starts at SG next to Rondo. Dude Smart didn't even shoot 30% from deep in college...

Wait... You think Rondo is going to resign? Bit early to end his career don't you think :P but seriously, when was the last time a big free agent signed in Boston? Free agents don't come here man... Gotta acquire our talent through drafts and trades.

Vonleh isn't like the bigs we have though. He could potentially be a centre.. Have you seen his wingspan and huge hands?

Napier officially traded to Miami.

Heat will trade #26, #55 and a future 2nd rounder for Shabazz Napier

8) 8) 8)
Looks like the big 3 r all opting out and signing for less so we can get deeper :)
geez, Pat Riley just gets it done!  :o   ;)

yeah cant see Lebron moving at all. the question now is bosh and wade.
if LeBron takes a pay cut, surely D-Wade follows a bit??

or did they really 'back-end' his current contract??
If that's the case, then it's fair enough for him to stand pat unfortunately cos it sounds like he doesn't have many seasons left to play ...
now that its clear they r all staying, like Jalen said, "LBJ big contract, Bosh large contract, Wade medium contract"

dont see us re signing Chalmers n sounds like Cole is on the table

were they re signings tho? ino rasheed came via trade from Atlanta, not sure about Shaq? or Terry?

Master Q

I think Jay meant signing to Boston, but if you mean resigning, there are even more...

Shaq and JT were both FA signings

Holz

I dont really call those guys big time signings, given the stage of their career. Rondo will need alot bigger names to come to push them for a title. Like Love. Probably the biggest FA signing in Celtic History.

There are only so many superstars in the league for 30 teams...
