Haha fair mistake then. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this going to be our first top 10 pick since Danger? Not counting Davis since he left us...

you'll probably end up with #10, with the Frawley compensation to the Dees

Has the result of a priority pick been resolved then? If not Could = 11 & if Saints get one also could be 12.

The Dees failed to receive adequate compo from the last few years, why change now? ::)  Saints, no, their own fault. If it carries on then they get a compo pick next season? But they wont ::)

Frawley, a higher compo than B Goddard? :o  Surely not ::)

Man, how flowered has the AFL actually become? I blame that idiot, Dumbetriou as usual

I really don't think the saints deserve one nearly as much as melbourne... The saints have made an effort to restructure their list so players like mcevoy and goddard were moved on to prepare for the future, it's like saying GWS deserves a priority pick even though they knew there was a reasonable probability they were going to struggle if they went with a youthful list.

I really think melbourne should get a priority pick though. Frankly, priority picks aren't there to help you if it's not your fault- if a club does so badly for so long it's almost definitely some internal fault that caused it, they're there to help clubs that have had a colossal flower up (aka, the last decade in melbourne's case) get back on their feet and be competitive asap.

Nobody wants another fitzroy.

I doubt we'll get a PP, think we might get one next year if we finish bottom again. Melbourne compo for Frawley will probably be after their first which will = 3.

considering they could potentially have 2 and 3, surely the AFL don't also give them a PP

Big Mac

Sorry brad, but I really hate that kind of reasoning. Every club gets draft picks dependent on their ladder position, and believe it or not, one of our best players and a leader of the club leaving for an untried and untested kid isn't an amazing deal.

Bill Manspeaker

that's fair enough mate, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not gonna try to convince you otherwise, but I know if I was a Melbourne supporter and knowing we'd get pick 3 for Frawley, I'd be helping him pack his bags

Mailman the 2nd

Yeah Priority picks can't be based on whether you think Melbourne have enough picks already.

Personally I think they should be given a priority 2nd round pick but thats just me

Pkbaldy

Give melbourne pick 2 and 3 if they want... It's not going to help them. They will find a way to stuff it up

Been away fishing and here on the radio

Adelaide signs Lowden, Cheney whilst losing our second and thisr round picks but getting #43 back

THEN WE FROGGING MOVE OUR COVERTED (DURDIN) PICK #10 And get back pick #14 and #35

So we get two fringe players and drop down our first two draft picks but gain a higher third rounder? (43)

Ok, ok normally I'd like the idea, Cheney with Truck and Otten gone and Lowden a likely future and decent enough backup Ruckman but

HOW THE FLOWERING FRIDGING FROGGING flower DO WE GET SAM DURDIN NOW >:(

Well, if we miss Durdin Id like to take Goddard, if not then my suspicions are they are eying a mate of my boy Charlie. The speediest of em all, Jarrod Pickett :)

Toga

Think Pickett will be gone by #11 to West Coast, and not sure Durdin will last until your boys pick now so not sure why you traded down!

Have a feeling Goddard might be your man ;)

Sweetness

We needed a back up ruck and another defender, which we got.
Effectively at the price off moving 4 spots down for our first 2 picks and moving up in our later picks.

If we get our player we were going to get at 10 at 14 (like Noble reckons we will) it's a very smart piece of trading.

Grazz

I really want this young lad on our list big time but i just can't see him being there at #14, not sure he would of been there at #10 either. If by some miracle he is there i hope the powers to be jump all over him. He is perfect for us with his versatility and no doubt other teams ahead of us in the draft will be thinking the same.

Vinny

I am sure the club has a plan guys, they would have made the trade knowing they'd get who they want at 14. :)

I wonder how good this player is who the teams with the first 13 picks apparently don't want?
