NICK Riewoldt says he won't leave a rebuilding St Kilda to chase a premiership at another club.

Riewoldt was approached by Collingwood president Eddie McGuire during last year's trade period and former Essendon forward Matthew Lloyd has suggested Riewoldt could help a club such as Port Adelaide, Geelong or Fremantle win a premiership.

Lloyd said a trade deal could deliver two quality youngsters to the Saints, but Riewoldt says he isn't thinking about leaving the club he has captained since 2007.

The 31-year-old is contracted until the end of next season.

"To what end would I be leaving the Saints for?" Riewoldt said on Sportsday radio.

"Obviously, we all play footy for premierships and I played in a team that came really, really close and we're clearly a way off at the moment.

"The only reason you would leave is if you had that guarantee, and it's just too hard to find in footy. In any given year you'd say 5-6 teams could win it, so you've got about a 15 per cent chance of getting it right.

"What I would lose out on, and the heartache that it would cause me to leave St Kilda, a club that I love and have given my everything for, it's really not on my radar."

He looks to be going down the path of Jonathan Brown at the moment, don't think he'll be in the system for more than 2 more years

imo would be best for him and the club to do a trade long term

Freo would have given up there 1st round pick for him i think

Started the year with a bang but hasnt been able to have the same impact since.  I would be surprised if he played into 2016

I can't imagine him leaving the club for another, it just wouldn't be right.

Next year should be his last year.
