Why wouldn't you consider sideways trading him to Kelly?

Then upgrading your D6 back to him in a couple of weeks?

XEllis (acceptable for now) and;
SMartin (avg >100)

So:
Have $90k
Simpson to Swallow (make $23k)
-Hallahan ($292k deadweight)
Move XEllis to M10
Have $405k.
Janesch is $405k... So:

Simpson (losing money) and XEllis

Swallow and Janesch.

In say two weeks time, should be able to afford to have one of Hanley/Jaensch/Suckling as my D7, and bring back Simpson (hoping to cost only $150k from Griffiths)

Look at last 3 - I call it sideways.

I'll probably keep him though, not this coming week, but Round 16 he is playing St Kilda, and I'm playing the topoftheladder team.... so I'm hoping he does well there.

Teams not announced until Thursday, injuries unknown for week, rookies unknown and you're considering trading out one of the best most consistent defenders (excluding that last hiccup).

He's smashed out some high scores this year in 140's so potentially may not lose you that much money anyway.

Hmm, fair enough.

I've got the top 4 averaging defenders (excluding one gamer Logan) - and Hanley, who was in the Top 5 before last weekend :@ (and Suckling)....  so it would be nice to not need to do another Defense trade this season....

Right, okay, I'll keep him. But, his last 3 have been dog shower, and if he doesn't step up in the next two weeks I'm going to be disappointed!

With most teams complete or thereabouts, I don't why people are so concerned about pemos losing cash.
On any given week, I would pick Simpson to outscore Swallow, Kelly, Hanley and co. so it's silly to trade him out just because his price will drop.
It's about maximising points for your team at this stage so price is irrelevant. Feel free to trade him out if you don't think he will be a top6 defender from now until year's end.

If you need cash trading him out now and getting him back later is one way of doing it.
This is if you have a full premo team.
