Sure Jayman - he would be good for a playoff team if he came off the bench. I can't see him improving a West team by starting.

Edit: I should put it out there that I have always thought he is over-rated and should never have come close to a max deal...... EVER!!!!
Yeah I'm talking like 15 minutes a game for a contender. Perhaps if the Mavs gave the Villanueva minutes to Stat? That's definitely an upgrade!

He was awesome in PHX but a max deal was going to be tough to live up to.
that's why the Suns didn't give him the max - as valk wrote he wasn't/isn't a max player.
playing with Nash and doing their pick-n-roll thing just made him look awesome ...   ;)

PHX don't need anymore liabilities on defense thanks!   ;)

I was thinking he'd fit in with GSW doing pick'n'roll with the splash bros but again he'd muck up their defensive chemistry in all likelihood ... Cavs same thing, wouldn't fit in Chi-town ... maybe Houston??   :-\
Mavs r supposed to be the favorites, if i were him id stay in the East, Cavs would have room, wouldnt get 15 mins a game with Bulls

Celtics are going after Ty Lawson.

I like it if it's a buy-low type move. Don't want to give up a lot just to scrape into the playoffs though...
awesome player, little bit injury/trouble prone, u wont get him cheap n u would want a promise of signing on from him too

Jay

Let's not underrate Amare too much ;)
He was incredible offensively in PHX.

I think he'll end up in Dallas. Followed shortly by Jermaine O'Neal. Dallas desperately need some bodies

Highly recommend 'The Interview' with Kobe that aired on NBA TV last night.

That dude is just wired differently to everyone else. Really good to get an insight to how he works.

Representatives for Goran Dragic told the Suns on Tuesday that the veteran point guard does not plan to re-sign as an unrestricted free agent, according to a report by Sam Amick of USA Today, putting pressure on Phoenix to deal Dragic by the Thursday trade deadline or likely lose him for nothing in the summer.

A team that acquires Dragic now would also have his Bird rights in July, a major bargaining chip in free agency. Several reports say Dragic, through his agent, have given the Suns a list of preferred destinations, but that the Rockets, one of the clubs that had been pursuing him, are not among the places Dragic would stay. That would put Houston in the difficult position of giving up assets for someone who would bolster its playoff hopes, except as a short-term rental who would leave after the season.

According to David Aldridge Dragic has given Suns a "very short list," of teams that he would like to be traded to by Thursday.

Jay

How about Miami as a possible destination for Dragic? I know they don't have many trade assets but they certainly need a PG.

Houston is the obvious one, surprised he doesn't want to go there. If they hadn't given up a first round pick just to dump Lin's contract that probably could have been used to get Dragic ???

Boston could make a run at him imo. Remember he was All NBA 3rd team last season, really good player.

i'm hearing lakers, knicks or heat.

so basically big market teams that suck.

Knicks i understand if he goes next year, tank than have melo, early pick and plenty of cap space, plus in the east.

Jay

If he goes to Miami they'd be a scary 7th seed.

Dragic, Wade, Deng, Bosh, Whiteside

Don't think they can contend but I wouldn't want to play them...

they would need to take on one of Deng or McRoberts to make it work cash wise i think

Would Josh McRoberts, Shabazz Napier and a 2017 first round draft pick be enough for Phoenix?

Works on the trade machine. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mjo7lst

fk yeah heat make that trade in a heartbeat, id really like that dynamic of a rangey left hand scorer to with Wade, with Whiteside coming on we could be sneaky dangerous

Not sure it'll be enough but Heat don't have much to trade  :-\

I figure Napier is on the table considering they only drafted him to try and keep LeBron...

Holz

Chase him Cavs

Dragic Irving LeBron love varejo/mozgof

Jay

Cavs gave up everything to bring Shump, Smith and Mosgov in.

Has turned out to be a series of good moves though.

Mat0369

He wouldn't want to go to Houston because the last time he was there he sucked.
