Huge trade!

Cavs get: JR Smith, Iman Shumpert
Knicks get: Reggie Jackson
OKC get: Dion Waiters

Last report I read says Reggie Jackson not part of trade.  Knicks to get a protected future 1st round and a future 2nd round pick.

Jay

Yep latest is that Reggie is staying.

surprised to see waiters gone, I always thought he didn't fit given irving is really more a SG than a PG especially with lebron in the team.

looks like abit more outside shooting and kind of indicates they don't expect allen to come. Quite abit of outside shooting now.

Shumpert should provide some much needed wing defence. just need some inside precensce now.

My Chumps

Cleveland's last three draft's:

2014, #1: Andrew Wiggins
2013, #1: Anthony Bennett
2012, #4: Dion Waiters

No prizes for guessing what they all have in common. Clubs would absolutely salivate over the chance to have two #1's and another top 5 pick back to back to back, and the Cavs have managed to trade them all away. It did get them Love I suppose, but still.

My Chumps

Hypothetically it could've been:

2014: Wiggins/Parker
2013: Oladipo
2012: Andre Drummond (or Damien Lillard but considering they already had Kyrie...)

Add Lebron in free agency.

Drummond
Thompson
Lebron
Oladipo
Irving

6th: Wiggins/Parker

Jay

Nice post Chumps. That's why I was pissed off when the Cavs got the first pick - they've had every chance to be successful and blow it year after year.

The Waiters trade was another example of that, they needed to use him to get a centre. Cavs aren't even getting a top 4 seed if they don't bring in a proper big man.

Chicago are on another level in the east right now. Title favourites.

Only favourites because Atlanta dont have the bigs to match with them.  Hawks are playing great ball

Raptors are also a pretty good team. They have been playing without DeRozen but will be a top 3 team in the east.

For the Hawks Jeff Teague is a pretty underrated player and then they have a couple of solid bigs like an old Brand, Milasap and Horford. The Thabo pick up was good for them since he can provide some defense on the wings and then they have Korver as a spot up shooter.

Jay

Yep those teams are quality.

Bulls, Raptors, Hawks and Washington would all be favourites over the Cavs in a playoff series.

My Chumps

I've been pretty surprised and simultaneously impressed by Teague's development.

Cavs give up two first round picks (from OKC and Memphis) for Timofey Mosgov.

Love the move for Denver, sheds salary and gives them some assets for a rebuild.

Interesting move from Cleveland, gotta be careful they don't become the Knicks, Nets and Heat by trading away young talent and picks to win now and leave themselves completely screwed in the future.

I think its a good move for the Cav's who are obviously going for the win.

Mozgov and Shumpert are defensive players to fit in between their big 3 in Lebron, Irving and Love.

Jay

Loving this Memphis, Atlanta game. Two of the elite teams right now.

Memphis hanging in there without Z-Bo.

Jay

Korver with the dagger! Man that guy is seriously underrated. Quality player.
